How many people only have one Rolex and are content?

Anyone have one Rolex or one luxury watch and are content with this? Or do most people want more, for those that have no budget how many watches have you ended up with?

You can be a billionaire and be content with a Seiko while still loving watches. People's things end up owning them. I've gone through a decent amount of Rolex and Omega watches. I now have 1 Rolex and 1 Omega and I'm ok with that.

I only have one at a time. If I buy one, that means that I am sick of the existing one and sell it. I elect not to tie up my money in watches. Of course, I have been known to buy the one I sold again. I have a 16570 now, sold a prior one, and then at a later date bought it back.

Three is the magic number. Any more = too many, any less = not quite enough

Funny you say this. I also bought a SD43 because if I end up with only one Rolex it is the most well rounded piece. I love it.

it's a great question. I have known many who have owned one Rolex and have been happy for years and years.

This is my sentiment exactly. I also own one rolex and one omega...and a casio!

Personally I don't think Rolex or Omega are that practical for anything. Just nice to have. I would never take either camping, for instance (Casio's been many times!). I am actually looking into a Seiko for a beater than I can travel with but also keep a long time. Love that Casio but they don't last forever.

I have an 11 year old Explorer II and I am content.

With that being said, if I could get my hands on a 116500 at original retail price, I would buy it.

i’ve quite a few watches. i never sell anything, and i love them all for different reasons.

i think including non-rolex i have about 15 pieces. i’ve tried to curate the collection as well as i can.

i don’t know if i could go back to one... wore my breitling chrono avenger daily for like 7 years.

and if i had to choose one, and i had taken delivery of it, my one would probably be the DD40.

I could be happy with one but sadly I’ve found them not reliable enough so I need a spare.

Many first wold dilemmas here lol. These are honestly a privilege to own, handle, and enjoy, not to horde and be discontent. I've looked high and low for beaters but ended up with an Oris 65 movember. Black bay-esque with a date. Which Seiko are you looking at? Enjoy your watches my friend!

For the last few years I have owned only one Rolex at a time. I have never owned more than two Rolexes at the same time. However, I do get the "itch" about every two years to try another model so I sell one and buy another. I guess that means I'm content only for the short run. I am, in fact, thinking about keeping my Sub 114060 and adding a DJ this year.

I have two Rolex watches.

One is enough but if I only had one I'd feel like I needed another one.

I have more than one Rolex, but I could be happy with only one--I think.

I'm getting old enough to question the value of acquiring more, but I can't see getting rid of any as long as I'm healthy.

If I don't drop dead suddenly, I'd probably liquidate by giving my closest friends one to enjoy, if they happen to be interested.

I do still get a thrill from wearing my cheapest watches, though, so I don't need a Rolex or any luxury brand to be happy in any given moment.

The vast majority of owners only have one and are quite happy. People with more than one are the irrational ones..

Gotta have at least two, so you have one to keep you company while the other is getting serviced!

Your missing a variable. How many people can comfortably afford multiple Rolexes, only have one and are content.

I’d argue most with one can only afford one and are perfectly content with that. If they had endless funds, they’d likely have more.

Always been a one-nice-luxury-Watch-man until I saw the Tudor GMT, I broke the rule for it and now I own one Rolex one Tudor. Took me time to get used to the idea but got there.
My friend joke with me by saying if something happens to me they can identify me by my watch. I told them and who guarantee the watch will be on my wrist after the fact :-)
It lives on my wrist for a decade or two until it becomes part of me.
