Looking for honest thoughts on Recent Rolex Purchase
I recently purchased a Rolex 16233 Two-Tone gold/ss from Beckertime. The cyclops magnification is less than my past Rolex. From what I have seen on the forums, people are stating that the cyclops lens is occasionally under 2.5X magnification. I plan to have it authenticated by my local AD this upcoming business week. I have always been told that cyclops lens under 2.5x magnification is a dead giveaway that the Rolex is fake. Looking for any thoughts from fellow Rolex Lovers! Thanks for any input! I have attached pictures below.

A couple years back Rolex had a batch of cyclops that were not the proper 2.5X magnification. Many sent the watches back to RSC under warranty and Rolex replaced the crystal/and or cyclops with one that is proper magnification. So not necessarily a sign of a fake watch.

I am not too familiar with converting files. I couldn't make the image low enough res to submit as a JPEG. I converted it online to a zip file. Please let me know if this worked. |

That low magnification is something that people used to think was a dead giveaway that the watch was a fake but actually that is not the case and cannot be used for determining that anymore. The issue in recent years where Rolex were putting weak magnification cyclops' on their watches but an end to that.
I have an LVc which is not the usual 2.5x magnificaition. It's very slightly less at about 2x I'd say. I actually think it looks good and chose not to send it in to have the crystal replaced. I think when it is eventually due a service though I might ask them to correct it for me. It doesn't bother me but should I ever need to sell it I know it bothers other people so I'll try to get out ahead of that issue.

Well Austin, I’ll extend a provisional welcome. Don’t think me distrustful - but you did attach a zip file here and that’s a prime tactic of hackers/scammers.

What's more interesting is the cyclops is off-center, towards the right. Might be the angle of the picture, though.

It's not a virus but I completely understand. I am always hesitant to open zip files as well. I would have attached it as a JPEG but it was too large for me to post. I guess I need to post more in order to submit a larger file size picture. |

Okay, thank you for the input. It sounds great ( I can only hear it if it is within one inch of my ear) and it is much heavier than my older vintage Rolex was. It kept time +1 second over night. Makes me feel better that the cyclops seems normal. |

A cyclops magnification is a terrible way to judge authenticity as many watches get non-Rolex replacement crystals and a seller like Beckertime would definitely not use genuine replacement crystals due to the cost associated...

Other than the crystal possibly being aftermarket- everything else looks good. It came in better shape than I was expecting. I'll be popping off the caseback when I get the proper tool in and confirming the movement condition. They had very good customer service. Otherwise very happy.
