Aquanaut clasp macro
I took a macro shot today. Just got the macro lenses and was playing around with it. Thought I’d share. Also, put it on the rubber strap.

Thanks for sharing that excellent shot!
Love the clasp on the Aquanaut. Only thing is that it's kind of a scratch magnet... I have a few unexplained hairlines on mine even though I know it has only rubbed against my clothing a few times. |

Great shot. I'd hate to take a macro of mine with the swirls and hairlines on it that would light up. Anything will hairline the bright polish parts of Nauts and Aquas. Oh well wear and enjoy.

I doubt that I want to see a closeup of my clasp as it doesn´t look as flawless as yours anymore.

Thanks guys!! Yea the clasp is nice and crisp. I’ve had the rubber strap for about 2 weeks. I’m sure it’ll look far different very soon! ROFL.

The buckle is a scratch magnet. Good that you managed to capture some beautiful shots of it before the scratches develop.

This is what my well loved 5167 buckle looked like before I sold it off for the 5164:

Can't help wondering if the buckle face could be either made of a harder SS or simply surface treated to make it harder to begin with, but Im sure there are complications in doing that too.
Also wondering what it would look like if the buckle was a brushed finished (to match the bezel) and the PP logo polished or inlaid. It might hide the the scratches for longer and easier to polish out than a high mirror finish. I dare say they won't be cheap to replace either. |

As long as owner is the one making the scratches, no problem at all.
That’s for me. Cheers! |

The Deployant clasp is certainly one of the best parts of the Aquanaut collection!

What's interesting to me is that the ladies Nautilus references have a buckle that's more similar to the one found on the Aquanaut bracelet (i.e. with push buttons.) |
