Raymond Weil Watches

I know that these are not high end watches.

I might have an unusual soft spot for the brand after being given one as a gift many years ago by a Non- WIS.

To me, there is still some appeal to a Swiss Automatic on a bracelet that can be had for less than an RSC service charge.

Have I slipped a gear?

No, I have one I wore for 18 years every day and still serves as my chrono. Had a Rolex AD tell me at one point they liked the brand. Here's my old Parsifal, photo from the web. Although this was a more expensive watch than you mention back when I bought it in the early 1990's. I think it was the first Parsifal model released--can't part with it:

That is very sharp looking

I’ve never seen that model,but I also had a Parsifal (that I’ve since re-gifted)

Excellent rule to live by....... never keep a gift from an old girlfriend

My wife has one. It's a well built hefty watch. Nice bracelet.

Funny thing. I remember buying that watch and telling the AD, "anything but a Rolex" at the time. Have had a change in interests since then!

But Art, you are right...that was a really comfortable bracelet to wear regularly.

Hers is maybe a 35mm men's watch she bought used. I was surprised at the heft and build quality of the watch, it had a rich look to it. She passed it on to her mother who was wearing a Tissot.

I had to pull it out and put it on for day because of this thread! Wore it to the Casino in Monte Carlo years ago, so some very fond memories associated with this watch. Will time the grill after the Derby using the chrono.

I have a really nice RW as well,l it was my first real expensive watch (800+ was expensive to me back then) and to this day I would choose it over any of my Rolex's if I was dressing up real fancy.

I had a Raymond Weil Fidelio a long time ago. I enjoyed it until I got my first Rolex.

I have a RW Tocatto that serves as my formal dress watch. I am very fond of it and looks great with a tux.

Wow. Haven’t heard that name in a long time. I had one and wore it forever. It was quartz. I tried to change the battery myself and ruined it.

I bought my wife one many years ago when I was a poor student in University.

She still has it and rotates it with her Apple Watch so I have a soft spot for the brand.

Gave my wife one when we were still dating and then a RW tank when we were just married, but the Rolex I gave her when baby #1 was on his way has relegated those to the abyss of her jewelry tower

More Pictures Please

That chrono has a great look

You don't often see such an elegant tachymeter.

Ive always liked the brand.

I think they have some really sharp watches. For a long time now their designs are often appealing to me.

I bought a RW Nabucco back in 2012 as I just started to appreciate SS swiss watches with automatic movements. Truth be told, I wanted a sub really bad but this was the next best thing given I was only 19 and I didnt have Rolex money. It was a really nice piece that I loved wearing everywhere but I hated how the bezel didn't rotate despite being a "divers" watch. Also, it wore pretty tall relative to the sub I wanted so bad and the PCLs + the bezel started to scratch pretty bad so I stopped wearing it and sold it on ebay (for what little resale value a RW has)

I've got one:

Bought one just like this many years ago as my first Swiss watch but sold it to a friend. In 2011 I was able to find this as a replacement.

First nice watch I ever owned, cost me £400 in my late teens, a mini fortune, its the Rolex of the under 500s is how I justified it.

Love my Raymond Weil Don Giovanni.

Sounds like the same as most people it was my first expensive watch and first dive into swiss watches and away from Fashion brands such as Armani/Boss etc....

10 years down the line and it still gets a wear with my suit or dinners, may get less of a run now that I have bout the DJ41, but very close to my heart still.

I had a Maestro that I gifted to a nephew, but Weil has some nice designs. Can be picked up at a big discount.

What can I say...I love many of RW models. I love my Parsifal and last Christmas I bought one for my wife and she loves it. Nearly almost are ETA movements and the watch work is pretty good in nearly all models. Will continue following the brand closely.

Picked up one a week or so ago, beautiful watch, 26 jewels, Swiss Made, display back, open balance, very happy with this, great looking piece.

Now if I could just get it off my son's wrist....

One of my mates has a Skeleton Maestro. Terrific watch - can be had on grey market for $1.2k.
