...if there wasn't Seiko....

but, if there's a specific Invicta you fancy, all power to you. Lets face it, it's absolutely not necessary to spend more than $60 to get a watch

I love Rolex but imo now which a sub price starting at 8,000 is ridiculous. Kinda sad I guess they want people to buy a Tudor .

Disappointment.

There are too many Respectable Seikos in the same price range for me to ever seriously consider any invicta.
Bingo, agreed 100 %

I'd rather wear a genuine Invicta, than a fake Rolex.

I actually bought a ladies Invicta ym look alike and wore for years, until I had the funds for a better watch.

Yes, I loved the look of ym, and no I couldn't afford one. A $99 Invicta brought a smile to my face.

To each their own, but never ever forget where you came from, to be here today.

Very true. It’s hard to find better than a seiko diver for anything in that price point.

I honestly don't understand this logic. If you are against fake Rolex watches, how can you support Invicta here? Look at OPs picture and tell me, what is different? The logo? It's clear as day what Invicta are trying to do... and it's essentially the same thing your average guy with a suitcase of fake Rolex watches in NYC does...profit off an iconic design from another company.

If you can't afford a Rolex, buy a Seiko. Buy a Hamilton. Buy a Swatch. Support companies that actually create and have an identity. Atleast that's what I did.

What I like is on Facebook sale groups when there is an Invicta listed people ask is it real and have box and papers

Guess someone has to sell Rolex designs since Rolex won't release enough for people to get

Hamilton, Seiko and Citizen were my first foray into buying watches right after college. I still own two Hamiltons and a Citizen eco drive I purchased over 10 years ago. All three still work great.

Point being, you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars in order to get quality watches. Nobody will look down on you for owning a Swatch or Citizen.

The logic is simple. I want to wear what I like and I liked the Invicta because it looked similar to the ym.

It's 20 years old now and it still works :)
I kept it as a sentimental value on my way to earn and afford the real thing, not a fake one.

That's fine. But why be against outright fakes then? That's my point. Invicta copying 90% of a Rolex model and slapping their own logo on the dial is just as bad as a complete fake Rolex.

i think you are missing the point of what a fake is. Clearly the parts that are similar are not unique enough to one particular brand to be trademarked and protected. Its the "generic" stuff they are replicating. Because its generic no one can claim to own it

I understand the difference from a legal reason. I’m simply stating that morally, I personally place what Invicta has done in OP’s pic (as an example) on the same plane as an outright fake. Barely changing a couple of details to skirt copyright law doesn’t give them more creedance than an outright fake. But, that’s me.

It's odd because some models they try and make the bezel look like an Omega.

Some people like the Rolex design but can't afford one. There are many companies that copy the look of Rolex, Steinhart, Squale are just 2 of them. I started out with a Invicta Pro Diver until I could afford my first Rolex but I own 3 Squales that are fantastic watches.

I've worn my Daytona out in public everywhere which I sold back to Davidsw and never got a compliment which I didn't need. Then I wore my sub no date ceramic never a compliment. Wore my omega seamaster and had comments . Wore my green pro diver and got the most comments on what people said nice Rolex. Amazing

Agreed - tribute models don't bother me in the least; in fact some are very appealing.
