Tag Heuer F1 stops randomly
Hi, I have a Tag Heuer F1(2nd gen model) that had a new battery installed in 2016. All has been well with the watch(I rarely wear it anymore) until earlier when I set the time. I screwed the crown back in and set it down only to find when looking at it a few hours later, it had stopped. By pulling out and pushing the crown back in, it started again. What could the issue be here. The watch is overdue for new seals(had new ones in 2012) so I planned to bring it in for that soon. Not sure what could be causing this issue. Thanks!

maybe the crown stem needs to be replaced?
or bad contact on the battery?

you may get lucky with just poor battery contacts but it sounds like the problem might be the contacts that turn on and off the power when the crown is pulled to stop the watch. the issue is those F1 movements are what's called here locally as the "disposable" style eta chrono movements and not designed to be disassembled for service. of course it still can be disassembled and fixed but you need to find a technician familiar with them. i believe tag heuer F1 chronos, some tissot chronos and swatch chronos all use that similar movement.
