Vintage Rolex
Hi can anybody help me with my Rolex. I have a Rolex which I would lik to sell but don't now much about it. It's silver with a blue leather strap double hinged.
It has a red 12 with black numbers. Front & back open. It has no second hand or any other dials, 15 jewels. I'm not sure what year it is . It has w&d inscribed and the letter U. Which I think is london .Thanks |

I have seen this watch in one of my Rolex books. It's a porcelain face. I have a photo of a similar one dated 1925. But if that is the case number (72212) it says in book from $1000 to $1200 if Gold but I found another similar one in book for $1750 to $2000 in sterling silver (also between 1925 and 1935) this book was printed in 2006 so you have to account for inflation and hyperinflation and some depression thrown in to the mix. Does the stem have a crown on it? I can't tell. What's the stem like? There are many experts on here. I'm just getting into the world of vintage Rolex but I did at least buy 3 books to educate myself. As a PhD, I won't buy anything without researching it first. I am facinated with the world of the vintage Rolex watch.

Thankyou ever so much for your response. I've looked on the cown and can't see any crown or other markings on it. I have been looking at the hallmarks and I'm 99.9% sure it's a b which indicates it 1917. Thanks for your help. Please feel free to contact me if your interested as I will be looking to sell
