True story.

AND, shows that much of the success the watch world is having is as much of surprise to them as it is to us.

The fact that they can't scramble and put quality content and product out there shows that they were completely unaware of the latest demand. which is mind blowingly shocking. this wave has been rolling in for a few years now.

how they did not at least have a prepared line up during the basel timeframe, wether they presented it or not, is beyond me.

and if they did, it should have been super easy for their marketing department to put together some magic. it has never been easier to market.

my wife creates great content daily for her fitness centers.

And then you watch all these interviews with their CEO‘s and funny acsents (accents), babbling away about passion and commitment and tradition and so on and so forth. Sorry for the rant, I am just really disappointed at the moment. Hopefully Omega turns it around

This whole Time To Move thing seems like a complete fart stain. They break off from Basel, fine, but then drag it out over three month, two separate events (dealers & press), no hype, no teasers, no photos, nothing. I'm certainly no marketing or manufacturing expert, but this looks like a miss to me.

Were you aware that certain watch clubs were invited to the March event in Zurich? They, the dealers and the press were not allowed to photograph any of the new models to be announced. Only pictures of previously shown models prior to Basel 2019.

This May event is clearly different than a pre-hyped roll-out.

We shall see if it fails or not...

And what's up with the Omega Instagram account? There were daily speedmaster posts for 10 days straight like they were leading up to something. And then they just stopped.

Like some of the KSC launchpad countdowns, “we are T -24hrs. And holding...”

They get to do this in their own launch cycle, don’t you think?

Personally, I’ll be surprised if the move through nearly 7,000 watches with this configuration. Speedy Tuesday did great. Ultraman, not so much. Hodinkee was widely panned.

Even grays appear to have difficulty moving some of these.

I’m a big Omega fan. But I think they have taken a great opportunity and completely blown it.

Yea I’ll admit I am grasping at straws giving Omega the benefit of the doubt. At the end of the day it does seem like they are really dropping the ball to market their brand.

If I was Basel, I’d lean back and wait for Omega to call... We screwed it up, please let us back in. I mean don’t we live in times of end user involvement, live events, streaming hubs, etc... What‘s next, TV ads and print?

Well I can tell you a friend who is an AD and was at their event in Switzerland told me BP will be re-releasing the FF Barracuda in 40mm as an LE but no 40mm FF production model. One can only hope they changed their minds on the latter in the meantime. Other than that, he didn't have a lot of excitement over the Swatch Group's new watches, including Omega's offerings.

The Barracuda is a very cool watch, disappointing that it's an LE though. There aren't enough 40mm luxury divers around which I consider is the sweet spot for many wrists.

Can confirm about the LE Barracuda as well.
I'm fine with them using the 40mm for LEs, but the standard FF should really be paired down from 45mm to something like 42mm

I just hope it comes in satin or brushed stainless vs. polished or titanium. I would love for the current blue FF in titanium be offered in satin stainless.

As a big Omega fan, this whole Time to Move event has been a huge letdown. It's no wonder Rolex is beats the crap out of Omega. The marketing at Omega sucks.

Leaving BW was fine but then waiting to release products 2 months later isn't and to top it off they put a media embargo on everything when the actual event starts until Friday. What is Nick Hayek doing?

I agree. Why have a bunch of media members posting on their Instagram accounts that they have seen all the new watches but can’t say anything. Very tone deaf.

Apparently there is an embargo on all models until Friday

I think they could have planned this better.

Using the hashtag 'Timetomove' on Instagram for any info, you have to sift through posts of people doing excersize and real estate listings with the same hashtag to get to some actual watch content

They could have at least staggered the embargo by brand. Maybe release Blancpain on wed, Breguet Thursday and Omega Friday?

To lift the curtain and flood social media and watch publications all at once on Friday seems messy and things are sure to get lost in the shuffle.
