Servicing a 1951 Prince
Hi,
First post. Long time Rolex owner. I have a 1951 gold Rolex Prince that I've owned for around 30 years, but haven't worn much for the last 15 or so as I find it's a bit small on my wrist. Anyway, I decided to show it some love and took it to a reputable jewelers in Manchester to get it serviced. They've now contacted me and told me that it needs a part that they can't get due to it's age. It seems that the hands are now out of sync. I can't be sure that it was working when I took it in, but certainly wasn't aware that there was anything wrong with it. I'm now stuck with a watch that doesn't work and I can't really prove that it was okay when I handed it over. To make it worse, it seems that I won't be able to get fixed as nobody can get parts. The watch has a lot of sentimental value and I'd really like to get it fixed. Does anybody know anywhere that may be able to help ? Thanks. |
