It does look really nice, but
The markers on the subdial for minutes go... 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5... Two-and-a-half-minute increments on a minutes subdial? That is just impractical nonsense, designed by someone in Marketing who wants it to look pretty and 'balanced' without caring about usability of the stopwatch function (the only reason the subdials even exist). Someone pointed this out on another forum or blog and now I can't unsee it - made me completely lose interest in the watch. A real shame because I do like what they are doing with some pieces in the Heuer range vs the Tag branding. I like the retro styling and colour scheme, I do like having a date function (which they've kept neat and balanced by putting at 6 instead of other awkward solutions like cramming it into the space between 4 and 5 like some others do). I would have bought one if not for the minutes subdial which is almost causing me physical pain every time I see it and think I like the 'look' of the watch. Sorry OP, it's a really nice looking piece if I could get past that issue. |

Too bad more watches do not have these larger, easier to read sub's. It is a definite selling point for me. (Older, aging eyes!)

Oh, my, God, look at that dial
Those subdials look so big, it looks like One of those WIS watches But, ya know, who understands those WIS? They only wear that, because, It looks like a total vintage watch, 'kay? I mean, those subdials, they're just so big I can't believe it's just so round, it's like out there I mean gross, look It's just such a, chronograph I like big subdials and I can not lie You other WIS can't deny That when you see pics of a Heuer on leather And 3 big dials on the face You get sprung, want to pull up tough 'Cause you notice that dial was stuffed... Does anybody else think of sir mix a lot when reading the thread title? |

I just looked at the carrera the other day. I love the dial look but it is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE and shaped like a dinner plate.

Nice looking Heuer and if you have to have a date window, that's the way to execute it.

I own this watch and can attest that it is better looking in person than the pictures. It has the size I wish the Daytona had, 42 mm. It wears great and the rice bracelet or leather can change the look significantly. The Autavia keeps great time and checks a lot of boxes for me.
