As much as I love the blue Skydweller I had to pass

As the title says as much as I love the Skydweller I had to pass. Its just way too big for my 6.5 wrists.

I also have 6.5” wrist and I got the white dial. I didn’t wear it yet because I still have other watches for rotation, I agree it is a bit oversized for my wrist too. However, I want to keep it for little bit longer and it might sing to me before I flip it. I like the complications and design of the watch but kinda useless sitting in the safe. Anyway, it does make my collection more desirable. LOL

I think you could pull it off from the photos, but I'd normally guess that 6.5 is too small for that watch.

I had a chance to try one on and thought it was too large for my 6.75” wrist also. It’s beautiful for those who can pull it off, for me it was more the height than the width

Completely agree with this. I passed on a white dial version about a year ago. I think I could barely get away wearing it regarding the lug to lug distance. The height of the watch was really the deal-breaker for me as well.

EDIT - Just to confirm, I am not saying the watch looks too big on OP's wrist. I am simply sharing my own personal experience with the SkyD and the prospect of buying one and can relate to the reasons he shared on not moving forward. In some cases the "does this look too big on me?" is spelled out pretty clearly with things like overhanging lugs, etc. That's not the case here, but size also comes down to personal preference. Based on the photos above, I could certainly see OP wearing this watch and it not being too big. At the same time, if he is saying it's too big I can also fully understand and appreciate his position. You may have the wrist to cover the lug to lug distance, but the overall height and heft of the watch is not for everyone.

I am desperate for that watch! Which AD had it? I would buy straight away.

Also, in those pics I really don't think it looks too big. The watch has presence yes, but certainly wouldn't say your wrist is too small. Sometimes it's more to do with your hand size

What does the Skydweller measure? 42mm? I wear the most recent Explorer II on my 6.5 inch wrist, I am ok with it.

It's not the diameter that's at issue.
It's the length from lug to lug that's the problem, and on reflection it's more than likely the most critical metric anyway as it's the most limiting factor.

Wow, perceptions.
I have a 6.5 wrist and would rock it any day.

I recently tried on a PM one and fit great.

About 6.75 and rock it daily. It is the most accurate of any watch ive had after over two decades of collecting. Am glad you were honest and passed it on to the next guy on the list.

While I would have bought in a heartbeat it's important to get something you are comfortable with. If it does not fit to you there is no point. So I would say good choice.

It really does not look too big on you. That's the size people seem to wear no matter how small their wrist is. I have a 6.5 wrist and would love a 38mm watch from Rolex in the sports line-up. The Explorer I is 39mm and worth a look.

That is one good looking watch. I'm not sure my wrist can support one of these either...but hopefully one day I'll be able to judge that in person.

Good on you for not buying and flipping it, and giving the guy in line behind you a shot at it.

I think it's gonna come in a little thicker than the Ex2 though which might be an issue for a smaller wrist.

I hear you. My wrist is about 6 3/4 inch, but the shape of the wrist matters as much as the circumference. The Sky-Dweller fit me nicely, so I went for it!

Hope they offered you something else nice so you wouldn't leave empty wristed.

People have different wrist shape, some flat, some more rounded. The gap space on both sides in that second picture just doesn’t look good nor comfortable. Good call.

I have a flatter wrist, just saying.

I blame it on autoconnect.
