Ah, OK. But the OP's sig shows a watch with "8 DAYS" on the dial. Same effect, no?

the only watch the op has in his sig is a daytona,Panerai's history is big simlpy tool watches and manual wind so anything that departs from that some people don't like but models grow and develop, some need a date etc so compromise to get a workable watch but also some history too.I myself think the word automatic on a watch is a bit pointless and also 8 day markings too but some like it.

My fault, I mean OPWatching's sig, not OP's. He's showing the 8 DAYS yet didnt like "automatic".

My 048 does say automatic but I don't see it detracting from the overall look.

I'm with you now.you mean OCwatchting,we all like different stuff, doesn't mean it's wrong,if a watch is going to mix the old with the new then I don't see anything wrong with putting 8 day or automatic on there, but I prefer on my 111 to have it plain as it is but if I were to buy a Pam with a date etc then I would like it to look different to the historic model,so having cosc or automatic etc on there would be good, would be good tho to hear ocwatchings reasons, well spotted btw, lets see if he can get out of that one

perfect choice! I sticked to the 40mm Pans. My love started with the 48 and goes over to the 74 completed my search last month...

Congrats from Switzerland...

Love that watch! I looked hard at Panerai before getting my SS White Daytona. If I ever go the Panerai route, I will stick to the 40mm size (44mm looks too big on my smaller wrists too!).

Also, always wondered what that model would look like with a PVD coating... hmmm....
