Sorry I wasn't more clear. Cote Bonneville has both the Carriage House and their flagship "Cote Bonneville" (at a little more than twice the price). Meant to ask if you'd had the latter in addition to the Carriage House

As for the wine itself we had another stop after so had to get in and out quick. Tried the 2012 Napa cab, it's not nearly as inky as some of their earlier vintages and seemed maybe a bit acidic. I think it probably isn't ready to drink quite yet.

2015 Sangiovese is good to go, delicious and fairly light. Would be great with grilled salmon.

Haven't really drank white from them, but it was hot (100+ F) and they had Sauvignon Blanc which is a varietal I generally enjoy and drink quite often as I eat a lot of fish/shellfish. It was actually really nice, I'd say a tad bit more fruit and maybe a hair less dry than something like Cakebread; they're selling it undiscounted for $35/bottle so it's on the pricey side but I think it stands up at that price point.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who enjoys Brian Arden Wine!
The Sangiovese is great. My favorite(so far)is their Cabernet Franc. I brought a bottle to the LV GTG and it went over very well!

Our guests brought the Clio and it was fantastic. They have a friend who opened a wine store a few years ago and to generate money she was selling wines from her personal cellar to buy more inventory. Our guests bought a 4 bottle vertical from the owner and we’ve now shared 2 of those bottles with them - both have been excellent full bodied reds. I had to search more about this this region / vineyard and see what grapes go into the blend. It’s a 70% Monastrell (or what we call Mourvèdre) and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The region is in SE Spain and the authorized grapes for the appellation include:

Great choices from Silver Oak! I actually much prefer the Alexander Valley Cabs over the Napa vines, not that I would turn either away!

My wife and I are headed to Amador County for the weekend to taste; it's our first night away from the baby, and it's a little closer than Napa. We've never been to Amador, but my family roots are in Lodi, another huge wine region.

I agree on the Alexander Valley Cabs. 2005 is a really good year if you can find it, I drank all of mine. I had a bottle of 2012 a couple weeks ago, not quite as good as I remember but who knows as it was a long time ago.

I believe the 2013 Opus was indicated as the 2016 wine of the year in some circles

I bet that Ornellaia was fantastic, 2010 was such a great year too

Had some nice Prime grade ribeyes, and paired it with some decent Napa cab still in its drinking window......

I have to say — the Ornellaia was the star. The Opus was great - but really needs a handful of years more (minimum) in the cellar.

We’re having one of our favourite affordable bottles tonight. It’s a mix of petite sirah and petit verdot. Very pleasant.

I've been out of the wine thread for a while now, diabetes will do that to ya. Celebrating my sons birthdays tonight at Morton's, their choice (6&11). Had this all to myself, wife can't have any for a while (strict diet). Had a sommelier in training jump at the chance to try it, didn't mind as I didn't want to drink all by myself. Can't wait until the 2003 shows up, until then this was a great bottle, same Kaylee Morgan I had in Barbados last month.

Love a 2013 Hundred Acre. You sure it wasn’t your birthday? that is the only way I’d get an entire bottle to myself !

Very good bottle for the price. Michael/David is a great winery. I like their Inkblot Petit Verdot, as well.

We hit them up all the time, as my family is from Lodi.

Yeah, the Inkblot is great! I have yet to be disappointed with one of their wines. We’re enjoying this one tonight —
