Military Submariner 5513 Dial.. Real or Fake?
Came across a Military Submariner 5513 dial for sale and cant tell if it is original or fake.
From my understanding the crown on these are more of the Bart Simpson crown, and the T and 660 dont look as bold as I've seen on others but it culd be the picture. The back is marked correctly with Singer. I need some expert opinions |

Rubbish, about as poor as they come.
Who is offering this fake tat, and where?

Thought so.. Is this just a repainted dial or do you think they forged the stamp also?

Why do new members who post [questions about] fake items so often fail to answer when asked WHO is offering the rubbish in question and WHERE? Clearly asked, conspicuously unanswered.
Oh, and "you're welcome." You probably do have a right to expect specialist knowledge from complete strangers on the internet that might save you a lot of money, with courtesy at best optional.

Well said Haywood.
You've saved this person untold wasted funds and anguish, without the slightest courtesy of a thanks. Maybe they were only scoping to see how their handiwork would pass off! I'm sure all members would enjoy the answers to your questions, myself included. Cheers, Buster |

and nope didn't buy. It looked fishy to me. The 6's look off, every other example I seen had the Bart Simpson crown, and the letters look to thin. Some former watch repair store is selling off a lot of Rolex dials, bands etc. |

If the estate is selling this piece online, then please give us the link so we can see it. Otherwise you're just another low-life scammer trying to see if your latest fake dial can pass the criticism of the experts. |

Agree with Haywood.
May i sugguest, future qns like this should go un-answered, unless OP comes clean on source... Why should you guys even give them any chance to know the grade of their handicraft? To OP.. an estate sale? Show us the "rest" of this "estate" then. |

interesting, almost all of the lots are stock standard. bits of jubilee's, oysters, various 80's, 90's boxes. Mostly dials with WG Surrounds and then out of nowwhere, MIL SUB DIAL?

Y’all are skeptical for a reason. I’m new to the vintage forum and the blunt no BS attitude is helpful to me. I popped in with a rare watch and you guys were polite to me, when you leave holes in your story I think your asking for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Many of the old timers on this site are particularly sensitive to fakes so in one way don't blame them. They are also skeptical when you have a new member who is interested in the feedback on a fake dial of a very very expensive vintage rolex watch.
He could have also just provided the link himself but chose not to which doesn't help. Anyway, purpose is served, the dial isn't real. |

I would say that a number of members came down very hard on on what was Prima facie a reasonable enough question from a new member who may not be fully aware of certain sensitivities. He also gave a reasonable enough first response. Just as members have no obligation to answer questions like that posed by th OP nor do posters like the OP have an immediate obligation to disclose information like who is the seller. As it turns out the OP’s story was legitimate. I think the OP was to an extent being unfairly and hastily maligned.
I wonder how many MOD issued watches out there (not just Rolex of course) might rightfully still be the property of HM’s Government and therefore the hard working British taxpayer, but are changing hands in the market sometimes for huge sums of money. Collectors should of course be cautious. Nothing raises a good argument like a Burford dial! Property rights with certain military watches is an interesting one, whether they be intellectual or real! |
