Side by side pics of 000, 005, 111, 112!!

Hi Paneristis,

Does anyone have side by side pics of any of the 000, 005, 111, 112!!
if not all of them :)
I am looking to buy one of them soon (ONLY ONE!), but can't decide which one is most suitable, and they are very difficult to find in Sydney!

Recommendations, suggestions, comments are most welcome!!
As for price drop after buying new, I guess none of them will lose much.

Thank you!!

looks like you've already narrowed in on a fine selection of PAMs.

when i was searching, one of the things i did was go to panerai.com and open up separate internet windows of the models i was interested in and flip between them.

good luck with the hunt!

ooh thanks for the pics!
btw, when I buy new, will I get brown leather straps for 005 and 111 (as can be seen in the pics?), and black ones for the other 2?
What about the rubber straps, I heard they all come with the same rubber strap?

Thanks again!

I would take the 111 without hesitation. Sandwich dial, sub-seconds, display back, COSC (for what it's worth)...

Handy, bear in mind that these models are non-hacking i.e. the hands keep moving when the crown is pulled out to set the time. Just something you might not be aware of.

for those models, yes, rubber strap included.

before ultimately going with DavidSW, the boutique in paris offered to switch out the standard leather strap for any other comperably priced one (at the time, i was thinking 111 with the 164 strap).

i've also heard of some ADs throwing in an extra OEM strap or two to seal the deal....

Greg, you didn't notice the logo.
Move on to the less obvious: the dial (sandwich vs. painted), then the caseback (solid vs. exhibition)

essentially, yes, but #1 has the logo, sausage (painted) dial and solid caseback, while #4 does not have the logo, has the sandwich dial and sapphire caseback.

same differences for 2 and 3.

Thanks for the info!
When I decide to buy I may ask DavidSW for those inclusions, I don't think I will go to Paris anytime soon :)

Cru Jones, what abt the leather straps, does 000 and 112 come with black leather strap, and the other two with brown ones?
from the pic uploaded, that seem to be the case, just need someone to confirm that.

Thanks all .... I did notice the logo , but thought that it cannot be the difference which gets it its own model number :)

Caseback difference is one - and now I understand

Will have to read up on the sausage vs sandwich dials.... learning something new every day !

"sausage" = lume painted on dial.

"sandwich" = lume disc below dial with numbers cut out.

the sausage is more historic (which some relish), while most people these days seem to prefer the sandwich (based on previous polls on this forum). just a matter of preference.

Handy, you are correct regarding straps...

000, 112
Black calf + rubber

005, 111
Gold calf + rubber

ADs will swap out straps if you prefer something else when you purchase, or maybe give you a free one in lieu of a discount. Try Oscar (bodybump) or DavidSW, as has already been suggested.

Thanks all. I have been thinking why can't panerai product a PAM with these properties at once:
- Logo on the dial (like 000)
- Sapphire caseback
- Sandwich dial

Don't think there's one out there, or is there??

Ah , thanks....

Sandwich seems like the more "exotic" version !

OP - go for the sandwich !!

When I first got the 000, I had some buyers regret as it felt so strange not to have the second hand. Over time, I have come to absolutely love the symmetry of the 000 with the 3-6-9-12 dial. Its just perfectly balanced IMHO. So now I don't mind not having the second hand. But all four you suggest are great choices.

Do it Dalip! Do it! You know you want to...

I have been surprised by how much I love my new 000. It looks quite plain in pictures, but with the perfect dial symmetry, painted markers and logo dial there is something quite magical about it in person.

To the OP...don't forget about the 177 (brushed Titanium version of the 111) and the 176 (brushed Titanium version of the 112).

Last week, I bought both a 000 and a 177. As much as I love my 000, I find the 177 to be far more comfortable due to the lighter weight. I also love the unique color of the brushed Ti. The Ti models are rarer and a little harder to find, but well worth it if they appeal to you.

I would consider the 177. Pretty much the same watch but with a TI case.

They are all very nice base model. The second hand looks nice. I will go with 111 without thinking but may be I'm bias...

Wow,where else could you possibly request a side by side of so many and get someone to produce a PIC upon request? Simply fabulous Lee Fei.

By the way my vote goes to the 000,for some reason. My PIC doesn't do it much justice, but I get to look at the realthing everyday. Awesome watch.
