Thoughts on PAM 233
Good Day All,
Whats your thoughts on PAM 233? Is it worth the 15K? How is the movement? I like the look of the glass! Thanks, Eric |

They're real nice watches. I was once on "the hunt" for one, however I started looking at other pieces instead. They tend to go in and out of vogue, but are highly regarded in the PAM community, especially the "dot" dial. Some of the older versions were known to have movement issues, although those problems have since been fixed. Worth $15K? That's your call. They can be had for less on the grey/secondary markets.
Good luck!

There were 4500 pieces of the dot dial made - Series I, J, & K. The bulk of the pr indicator problems came from the I series, which PAM fixed free of charge.
I've purchased 2 bnib K serials; both having no issues whatsoever. |

233 is the modern day Pam.. first in house 8 day movement keeps perfect pace with my daytona and the look... ooozing with class.. and easy to dress with different strap combinations! I think a carefully worn one can be had for about $9K area.. so if you like it, start the hunt! Best, Fred |

I understand that but I wouldn't pay that unless one wants to take a bath on the other side! Again- I paid nowhere even close to that!

PAM 233 is a great PAM. I cant believe it was anywhere near 15K. If so I should have bought the one at the NOLA AD for 11 something

I have a 233. Its a great all round watch - with a lot of complications. One thing to consider is, comfort and fit on your wrist and whether you own or plan to own any other PAM. WRT comfort and fit, I have also worn the standard Luminor and the 47mm Rad. In terms of comfort - the 233 being the thickest and chunkiest, actually means that on the wrist it is not as comfortable as the other two case types. That doesn't mean its uncomfortable, its a relative thing. Also depends on your wrist shape and size. I have very small wrists. I think you can pick one up LNIB for around 10K USD or BNIB around 12K.
Frankly, it is a real show stopper watch on the street due to its (thickness) size and domed glass and presence. I get lots of people glancing at it. Good luck with your hunt. Oh btw - the 8 day movement is very very smooth.

hey dalip, i remember you being in the same boat as me as far as not being lucky with how the 1950s case sits on the wrist.... how is the 233 different for you? (maybe i shouldn't ask, 'cause i've always secretly lusted after this watch, but, assumed i could never pull it off (haven't been lucky enough to try one on)). |

LOVE my 233! I've owned it longer than any of my other PAMs, or any of my other watches for that matter.
