Time for service?
I have a 6 year old 116610LN and when I wind it it's not nearly as smooth of a feel as my 116613LB. Also, the crown is always a challenge to pull out. The watch keeps great time +2.5 per day.
I'm looking for recommendations as to whether I should leave it alone or send it to a RSC for The Full Monty? |

Neither of those things have much to do with the functioning of the watchworks.
If you feel that you would be happy with a fresh rebuild and oiling, go for it. You don't need permission.

Thanks, I would prefer not to spend $600.00 if I don't have to but wouldn't want it to get worse and potentially cost quite a bit more to fix. Tough call.

It may be something simpler than an entire overhaul. Do you have an indie Rolex certified watchmaker nearby?

It will be the same 600 bucks if it were to suddenly stop working - or plus up for crown tube or crystal. At an RSC the basic cost covers most expendable (likely to wear out) movement parts. Be careful of some independents who will nickel and dime you for every part. Likely some of the parts you refer to are drier than optimal, but they are not high-wear items.

I would send it to a RSC if I were you and have it sorted out. Once you do, I think your watch will operate correctly in every regard, and you would be reasonable to hope and expect years of trouble free service in the future. Both of those things would sound really good to me and would be the deciding factors in favor of RSC.
Here’s hoping you get it sorted out completely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Pull the crown and turn it a few times and engage disengage, try this a few times.
Had similar problem and after fiddling around for some time with it all is good. Sound like a waste to spent full service costs for something minor as this

Tried that. I'd be fine if it was just that. The gritty feel when winding it concerns me. I swim all the time with this watch and to have it checked out might be a good idea.
