According to the Hodinkee article, he expects only 1-3 of these watches will be delivered in 2015. Who knows how many Patek will produce in 2016 and later. This watch will definitely be an application piece. However even the 5204 has been reported to show up at ADs, so you never know.

With a thickness of ~ 13.56mm, it will almost approach the thickness of a 5204 (14.19mm thick).

I'll take the 5204 then.

Hodinkee is a good source but in this case I have Some serieus doubts.
I simply can not believe they will make between 1 and 3 for the US.
Unless shoppend will only start in december. LOl
The movement is great but the 5950 splitsecond movement it even betten.
I do believe they can make a few dozen of these per year.
2 for the US seems way too little.
I would expect 50 per year so probably 10 to 15 per year for the US

I agree that Patek can make 50+ of these a year, but question is, will they?

They only have a certain number of high level watchmakers that can work with these complicated movements. And it is my understanding that if they start producing more 5370s, they will naturally have to reduce the number of 5950/5951/5204 produced because they only have a limited number of highly skilled watchmakers who can work on these.

Nice pics of the 5370 and 5170 side by side. Were you able to try them on? How does the 5370 sit on the wrist with the 41mm diameter and 13.56mm thickness? How beautiful was that black enamel dial?

Very nice, the 5370 really is exquisite. The 5170 isn't bad either

Glad everyone enjoys pics.

53 sat better than 51 on my wrist and 53 was much heftier. 51 felt very light and small but I am use to ~42-44mm watches. The lugs on the 53 seems to hug my wrist and the 51 seemed to stop short and sit across it. The black enamel dial was dark as the bottom of the ocean and the numerals seems to float in the darkness. The 51 had more of a matte finish with a slightly grayish hue (in that given light). These were only demo units so I didn't get to play. Oh, the case, oh my the case of the 53 - it's brushed on the cutout then polished around giving it so much character. I did like how the pushers of the 51 were closer to the crown than the 53 - almost acting as crown guards.

I'll talk more later and have a few more pics to upload. Got to get back to the action in Monte Carlo.
