Incoming SM300MC.
I was revisiting my idea of getting a Datejust as my next piece for the second time around. Only interested in the older 5-digit versions. First time around I actually bought one, but it arrived DOA so back it went. And I was somewhat relieved for some reason...
Now I was looking again, but even when I found a few full sets in good shape and at a sensible price, I could never actually pull the trigger. Then it dawned on me that I am really a "sports watch" kind of guy. A DJ is a bit "not me", if you know what I mean. I've been shying away from Omega lately, but this version of the classic Seamaster has captivated me since it's introduction. So, I set out to find a good one and this time it was not difficult at all to pull the trigger ! I found this one NOS with 3 years of factory warranty left at a good price. I got to size the bracelet and peel all the stickers myself ! That really feels good. It's definitely on the shiny side of things, but I have enough "mostly brushed" watches. I can enjoy a "mostly polished" one for a change ! |

I rather have that then a datejust. To me a datejust is kind of bland. Congrats!

I live a classic DJ.
But I think you made the right call. This thing is fantastic. Very good looking and robust watch. Congrats.

Congratulations. I really like this watch and have almost bought it several times but my Tudor and Seiko habit always win out. I am going to move it up the list for purchase as I think it is great looking and very versatile.

Many thanks ! I am really liking this watch. The finishing quality is outstanding !
I also like the fact that it doesn't have the silly (IMO) manual He valve of most Seamasters. The purity of the design is one of it's big pluses. If I were to find any cons I would say it's not really very toolish. It looks like an expensive watch, in the same way of a JLC Polaris, or a BP Bathyscaph. But I like the bling of this thing, it's definitely different from my 16600 SD. |

Congrats! It looks great. The SM300MC is my favorite Omega.

Thanks ! It really is one of the classiest looking of the current crop, with the new gen movement.
To my eyes, the latest POs and SM300s look a bit cartoonish compared to their predecessors (very personal POV, of course). |
