Hi All -
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend. I was looking to receive some advice as I'm interested in getting my first Submariner, however, I'm not entirely sure where one should start off year/model/style is it best to start off with a 16610? or 116610? I've read some articles on whether the watch has hole or no holes, assuming this determines about what year it was produced..? is it wrong to shop online via third party or better of going to a jewelry shop in person? Thanks in advance for the assistance. ~ A |

Welcome. Do your research here and then seek out the watch to try on in person. It will be hard to find a SS Submariner in person because of the shortage and the 5 digit will be harder to find. I would look up some of the Trusted Sellers here and several run an independent website and have both. I would get a SS Submariner ND, 114060. A modern but classic watch. Good luck on your quest.

There are a lot of great tools on this forum to do your research. I’d start by searching for the reference numbers you are interested in and get a feel for what owners think of them. This is one of the best ways to gain insight into real world ownership insights
