Is this at the original Panerai boutique in Firenze?

I was there earlier this summer and absolutely loved it! Picked up a couple new straps for my 275 while there.

Congrats on the new Rad!!

When in Florence!!! Incoming!

I had come to Italy thinking I would give Panerai a real good look for once. I had never tried them on and have always admired them from afar but always told my self that there is no way a giant watch would look good on my arm. I went to the boutique in Florence by Il Duomo which sits right in front of the giant baptistery, the original shop. It was awesome. I tried on the 42mm Radiomir1940 and thought for sure that was the one I was going to like the most, but oddly thought it looked small on my wrist. I was wearing my Grand Seiko SBGJ227 to the store and when compared to the Panerai , the Radiomir was of course bigger but oddly seemed smaller. I tried on the Pam 609 at 45mm and instantly knew the size was perfect. This all happened on Thursday the past week. I didn’t pull the trigger then but my wheels were definitely spinning. The wife is incredibly supportive of my watch hobby and couldn’t have been a better motivator. She kept asking me if I was going to get it, and how awesome it would be to get your first Panerai at the birthplace...etc...I’ve been on a watch buying tear this year and had a really hard time justifying the purchase, but knew in my heart I’d regret not getting it. So without further ado here are some pics. a pic with my Seiko in the box ready to be put in the suitcase, with a brown alligator strap, because we all know I’m wearing the Radiomir for the next couple days in Rome.

On a side note... I tried on the newer Rad 3 day with the p.5000 in it, which I thought was great, but to be honest the 8 day ticked way more boxes and the extra 1700 didn’t seem a big deal. When it was all said and done.

Anyways I’m glad to be apart of the Panerai club now and feel my collection is rounding in to a great five watch rotation.

Rolex 16220(this one is currently with my dad) obviously the middle watch in pic.bbb

Great watch... big congrats.

For years I thought I wouldn't be able to pull off anything larger than 42mm.

Man, what was I thinking!!??

Thanks everyone!!! It’s been awesome wearing this watch! Every time I look at the time it makes me chuckle because it’s so easy to read and looks damn good while telling time.

Nice! I just got back from Italy myself and picked up a 564 from the same boutique. Looks like we missed each other by about a week. I have to say, that boutique is amazing and the customer service was fantastic.
