liveauctioneers do not vet their auction houses
Do not bid and if you do do not pay. I was ripped off over $10k by an auction house they did not vet. They don't vet anything and cant be trusted.

Yep, BTDT. Last time was with an fraudulent "auction house" there that listed CC payments accepted, then changed it to "bank wire only" after the auction closed. Needless to say I declined to send payment via wire, and was promptly given a "non paying bidder" strike (preventing me from bidding on any other auctions), even after explaining the situation to their customer-care dept.
Before that, I alerted them to another "auction house" that was blatantly selling fakes, and they couldn't care less. They also seem to have several fake auction houses with the same revolving inventory that never sells, seemingly in an effort to make them appear to have more participants/traffic than they actually do (or for some other nefarious reason). So, yeah, AVOID IMO. |
