Best shipping carrier for sending a Rolex

Finally managed to sell my Gold Sub on Chrono24 and have to now send it to the buyer in Germany.
Having never sent such a valuable item by courier/mail anyone got any recommendations? I’m UK based.

Flights to Germany are dirt cheap at this time of year, even at short notice. Could be worth looking into and taking a short holiday at the same time. Less worry then.

Get a Parcelpro account.
I have one and used it about a dozen times, with no issues.
As long as you send it via one of their recognised couriers such as DHL, you shouldn't have a problem.

This. Do not screw around with this as it could quickly turn into a nightmare. A gold sub though? May want to consider hand delivering it. That package will have a target on it since the customs forms are usually attached to it and it won’t be hard for those handling it to know the value of the contents. Does C24 hold the funds until delivery? Or how does their service work? I’d be a bit nervous with this overseas scenario to be honest.

FedEx has limitations on insurance for jewelry. They let you buy any amount but will only cover up to the policy limitis if a claim comes in. I don't recall the exact amount, but I thinks it's around $5k.

Parcel Pro and Centinel Group Inc both provide their own insurance and you get to use their corporate rates for FedEx and UPS, which are streeply discounted compared to what we get on personal accounts because of the voume of shipments they do. For example, I just over night shipped my AP RO from Dallas TX to Denver CO with $17,000 USD insurance for $65.

Am currently looking at flights as in all probability there will be less grief and red tape-much simpler to jump in a plane with the watch and come back same day/next day.
It’s taken a few months (funnily enough watchfinder in the U.K. emailed me the same day asking if it was still for sale) but the great thing is I can now actively start thinking about which Rolex to get next. As it was my Dad’s watch and he loved them I feel bound to get one I will actually wear. Plus...it’s a Rolex!
Thinking BNLR or Deep sea d-blue.
Loved the blue face on the Sub it’s just the rest of it that was too much.

After sending a 1680 Submariner to LA WatchWerks in 2010 and the post office losing it, I got a Parcel Pro account. I wouldn't send my worst enemy's watch via USPS,UPS, or FedEX without third party insurance.

I stand corrected if wrong but it seems that chrono24 also offer a 2 week return on purchases ? ,,if person is unhappy with the piece,,
So,,if I send a brand new with stickers watch to somebody in the Eu who decides after just under two weeks and removing all the stickers that they no longer like the piece and demand there money back,,
then I am required to give full repayment?,,,
My brand new watch with stickers is now used and will have to be sold as used instead of bnib,,,,
Is this correct procedure or am I totally wrong,,?,
I hope I am wrong otherwise the chrono24 sales procedure could be open to all
sort of abuses,,,

Do NOT use the Royal mail special delivery service, they lost my watch it was meant to be fully trackable but all they could tell me is that it had been collected, as I did not have the original bill of sale for a 20 year old watch they refused to cover the cost of a replacement!!!!
