Looking good! I understand your frustration

Just made comment on Michelle’s green diver (sweet)
Am looking at mini turtles myself but afraid how they’d wear on my wrist
Morning coffee shop. I'm really liking Seiko. More than Rolex in fact. I'm turned off by the brand. 1012144[/ATTACH

Hi Janet I have found that Seikos wear small. Michelle has a small wrist and has no problem wearing 44mm models.

Michelle's Snowflake does like 5 seconds a month. But it's a GS. Her green one is I think +5 a day. My PADI the blue one does +6 a day. The SRP777 I just got came in at -25 a day. That's just too far off. They have the ability to be adjusted for accuracy. So it's in Canada and going to get adjusted. That watch I just love that thing.

Interesting....I don’t know much about Seikos but I know they have a following. You and Michelle are building quite a collection. Fun!

We really like the brand. Find them really well made. Especially the GS. I'm getting tired of all that's going on with Rolex. The watches that I would like are unobtainable new from an AD. The vibe with the Seiko forum is much nicer than what I'm reading on the Rolex forum. The Japanese seem to care more for and respect their customers more that the Swiss. Just my opinion.

Michelle's new GMT
I am posting the pic because the watch is with me in Florida and Michelle is in Canada. This watch just arrived and is nicer than any Rolex I've ever owned.

The others were Canadian, this one from the US. These watches are amazing to see in person.

Hi Coffee Shop.... yes I’ve been a little preoccupied with establishing a little Seiko collection.
Now that my Rolex blinders are off .... there’s a world of gorgeous (more affordable) watch brands out there !
I’ve settled on Grand Seiko and Seiko because of the amazing hands on craftsmanship that’s involved- these watches have Heart! They tell stories to !- My GS Snowflake references the countryside after a snowfall; my GS GMT references the early dawn hitting Mount Iwate . My green diver pays homage the ancient cedar trees on Yakushima island ( a famous diving spot).

I’m just blown away by them ! And best of all ...I obtained 3 watches for less then the msrp on a 36 Rolex TT Diamond marker DJ.

Cheers folks!

Very nice - can’t wait to see that maroon dial!
Do they wear true to size or a tad smaller? Art mentioned the green one was 44mm yet you have no problem pulling it off.
Was thinking my end game is going back to Roman numeral’s/white dial - now you’re just messing w/my head. Dang TRF! Lol

Have a good day all!

Anyone have exciting weekend plans? The kiddo has a 3 day weekend due to MLK day...I envision playing chauffeur to a carload of teens.

I’m home alone this weekend. Wife took the grandchildren to NYC to see Mean Girls today. They may be back tomorrow (assuming the weather holds up) in which case we’ll go to a Wizards game on Monday.

After our recent flood in our home on Christmas night..and getting the Emergency phase of the claim done and dried out, waiting for the Repair phase to begin, last nite our hot water tank went Caputzki, I'm dealing with getting a new tank installed. So it's been a great start to the New Year...

Years back I used to attend a good many Magic games. Had seats 3 rows behind the bench. Saw lots of good players. None like MJ though, he was so much better than any one else on the floor. No one was close. Many times I saw him check in and out of the game when he wanted with out being told. Often sat at the end of the bench and stayed there during team huddles. He was amazing to watch. Playing with the best of the best, but he was way better then the rest.

The deep freeze is almost over as it’s a balmy -24 here today. Warm up expected to be -4 by this afternoon (not counting windchill).

It’s my daughter’s 17th Birthday today - wow, how time flies! She’s had 3 straight days off from school due to the weather. Hoping to get out for a special dinner tonight

Hope everyone is well

Cabin Fever...Ugh!

After 3 days of “polar vortex” re: no school; snow, snow & MORE snow I am running out of projects to do. Lol Wish I still owned my XC skis - only way to get around today w/out “white knuckle” driving!

*What say you in your neck of the woods??

Hi Thomas... saw snow falling in Langley (video channel) yesterday. Did you get same? Driving in snow or ice/both potentially very tricky, I've had many past years in such circumstances. Stay safe.

Thanks DM! We stopped by Niagara Falls last weekend or so after being at the airport. It was a shock coming from 80F weather but was absolutely beautiful. The mist from the falls froze on everything around and created a winter wonderland. Back now in Florida.

Ha.. I was working in Langley that day. Driving to my work site in the AM with sunglasses on. Yeah!! Working thru the day, got done what had to be done..while the snow started up. By the time we wound up, had to clear the van of snow and take a LOONG, slow treck back home. Got home..to chill out, when I got an Emergency Call Out to a situation/vehicle impact. - Garage door closed sooner than expected. - Damn it all...!! A Long Day...in the Restoration Biz..!! UGH..
