What country are most TRF's from?

Does anyone know if there is a way to search the members of the site to break it down by country? I am very curious. Whenever I read through posts I glance at the member who wrote it to see where they are from. For some reason, it seems like more than 50% of the comments and posts come from people in London, England.

Does anyone know of a way to find this out? Also, am I wrong or does it seem like a larger than usual amount of folks on here seem to be in London?

The majority here are American. I imagine your perception is skewed by the fact that the USA is vast and so there’s a large spread of home towns of American TRF-ers. Greater London on the other hand contains about 13% of the British total population (8.6mil out of 66mil). There’s also a greater concentration of wealth in London versus the rest of the UK so you’d expect a greater proportion of Londoners to frequent a forum that selects above average earners. Oh, and people who live in the South East and vaguely around London will often claim to be from London, for a variety of reasons.

Quick answer is that location is not a searchable field under the "Community" page. And don't forget there are over 216,000 members, but just a percentage of those members actually post content. You are only seeing those who post.

Membership vs IP addy of poster.
Remember there are thousands of now dormant user IDs, too.

So you’d want to observe and disregard the member’s who haven’t logged on for a year perhaps.

Maybe our esteemed admin has a POV?
Perhaps an activity report or snapshot.

Otherwise you’d use the “Who’s Online” function at the bottom of TRF website, take a screen shot, then cross reference it by each member’s self-reported domicile, and do that hourly for a month - you’ll still just be guessing.

It's certainly USA, but in the morning here most of the US are asleep so the threads can be quite UK centric for a few hours so maybe that's where you are getting the bias feeling from. Don't think there is that much more London talk than elsewhere.

I'm not sure what value knowing the demographics has on a site with no advertising, but Steve could probably query the IP's and correlate to any time period he desired.
