The 5070G is amazing! I have a 6.6” wrist and it just wears too big. If it was 40mm it wouldve been absolutely perfect. Keep the 11. If your wrist was 7” plus my answer may be different

Smart Man! IMO the 5070 is the most beautiful chrono made in the last 20 years. I am talking about the design of the case and dial aesthetic. Whenever I contemplate getting one sadly realize the size just doesn’t work for guys with smaller wrists. Instead I live vicariously through friends who own them and can pull them off (incontrol and hairdude )

if you think the 5070 is too big, don't buy it
But this is the only reason cause a 5070 is about a zillion times more interesting than a 5711 which is no more than a simple entry level sports watch that happens to be a hype today. And don't get me wrong I even like a 5711 But its like comparing an airking with a sky dweller

If dont ever plan on owning a 5711 again and truly love the 5070 then yes. But since you are asking the question then probably not.

Other than the Nautilus hype going on right now, I would favor the 5070 anytime. It is a complicated patek (chrono). It ticks all the boxes. It is the Patek for the collector. The 5711 is the patek for the rest of the world. Nothing wrong with it but it is a simple patek.

5070G is a nicer watch but will be available later, the 5711 will be hard to source again, I would keep the 5711 and save to buy the 5070G later :D

You asked 5711 or 5070 and concluded the 5070 is too big for you. Answer right there. Keep the 5711 until you like sth else better. No ideas at all? No offense, but in this case it may be time for a different hobby rather than asking strangers for wild suggestions...

You can switch them back to back ? Do It ! (of course, try it first to see if you REALLY like it).
Let other play the "demand" game. |

The fellas here gave me good advice that I value and now I am looking for more opinions... yes from strangers who know their s**t about this subject. 5711 stays for now, I concluded 5070 is too big, I still want a great PP similar to the 5070 in style so I am asking more opinions :) |

Just looking for something in the 40mm range that is as close as possible to the 5070 in the 100k range. Thanks again for everyone's help and I am sorry if I have rubbed anyone the wrong way. |

If you want a similar PP to the 5070 but smaller I would agree that the 5170P is worth considering. It has been getting lots of love here and you might still be able to find it new at an AD as it has just been discontinued. If you don't like the diamonds on the 5170P any other 5170 might work (or possibly a 5960). That being said even a 40mm dress chrono may look fairly large on your wrist (larger than your 5711, which tends to wear small due to its wide bezel / small dial). Personally I would keep the 5711 for a number of reasons, including that I prefer simple watches like the 5711 and that it would be difficult to get another 5711 from my AD if I ever wanted it back (whereas a pre-owned 5170 can be had any day). |

Actual useful advice: Buy a gen 1 platinum datograph for 40kish, wear it and enjoy it....then lose 5-7k when you invariably pass it along. Having been that guy before I assure you this is the cheapest way to get into a world class manual winding chronograph. It will be a brief and expensive infatuation, it just about always is.
