The stampings were placed in a different order back then. The watch is genuine.

folks the writing between the lugs on both sides looks as though it was etched with a meat cleaver... I've never seen this jagged-type writing before... just seems odd to me...

Meat cleaver, chain saw or ice pick - many had crude engravings indeed back in the day!
