My newest, absolutely love her.

Have finally decided to sell my VC which I‘ve had for almost 30 years and never really wore her plus some Seiko SLA017 which I had laying around

Really makes me wish I had sprung for the moon phase Lange 1 instead of regular. IMO, their moon phase is absolutely gorgeous!

I agree.

Usually, I‘d say that the Lange 1 concept is purity and I did not like the added moonphase on the old watch because it somehow watered down the concept.

But that new moonphase is so phantastic, that to me it‘s an essential.

I‘ve discovered something new today about it:

The sky disk lies pretty deep under the dial, so if you look at the moonphase from an angle, you‘d expect a gap.

To avoid this, Lange chose to leave a rim on the side of the sky disk and paint it, so that even from an extreme angle, this thing is perfect!

Sky disk with rim:

View from an angle (the rim is pictured reflective by purpose).

Another shot of my Datograph (sometimes it has a bluish hue, depending on lighting)

Beautiful...yeah, I love the black dials on the Langes. Really chameleon like depending on the light. Makes me not yearn for a true blue dial watch sometimes. Haha.

Is there a better watch to wrapping up a decade?

Many thanks.
Agree, I think Langes look great on a wide array of straps and aren't nearly as dressy as everyone thinks.
