Looking for Submariner
Hello everyone. I have a question. Not sure what is the best spot on here to post it so here goes. I bought my first Rolex back in 1998. I got it from the local AD when they had one, or several, of everything. I wore it for a long while until about 2009 when I sold it to a buddy of mine. I gave him everything, box and all papers including the sales receipt with the serial number. He had it about a year and then sold it. (to be fair he gave me over a month to decide whether I wanted to buy it back or not).
At the time I didn't think much about it, but yes, now I wish I had it back. I can't even remember now if they put my name on the original paperwork back in those days. I had the back lightly engraved with my initials "BMT". I think my buddy buffed them out.... The AD was Gauss and Sons Jewelers in Gainesville, Fl. They are no longer an AD and told me they only have records back to about the early 00's. The watch was a 16610. I know there are a lot of people here who buy and sell and I thought, hoped, maybe someone could come across it. I would like to have it back to go along with my 16610T, OP39 and my Dad's Day-Date. Thanks in advance everyone!-Bret |

That’s a long shot.
But wish you well and hope you are soon reunited with your Submariner. But be prepared to pay a lot more than you originally paid for it. |

Yes, I am sure. I do remember it was 3550 with the tax included. A huge pile of money to me then.

Looking for Submariner
Stranger things have happened. Alton Brown has a cool story about finding his fathers watch on eBay on his hodinkee talking watches episode. Check it out to build up the positive vibes.
Otherwise, I will keep a lookout. It would be an awesome story if it was found. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you ever had them listed on your insurance and you still have access to or the old insurance papers around, they might list the serial numbers which might be a big help in tracking them down.

another bump-just in case. Name on the warranty paperwork would be Bret Traywick and the AD was Gause and Son's Jewelers.

They had an AD in Ocala too, I purchased my previous 114060 from them in late 2017. Sucks they lost their AD status after I reached the sales girl a couple of years back. GL on your search.

This is such an extreme long shot. I can understand the sentimental value, but you have been seeking that particular watch for a couple years now with no results, that watch could be literally anywhere in the world right now (even in a trash bin). I suggest you buy from a gray, or if you get lucky from an AD and have your initials engraved on the back again. No, it will not be the exact same watch but you can still enjoy it, and you can still continue your search. I wish you the best of luck.

Id just look for another Rolex to fill its spot as the odds are better for you to win the Lotto than find this watch
