Interesting. I know nothing about her, but just from the CV it seems we are in for a somewhat less colorful era than under FHB. Not necessarily bad, but hopefully not too boring/corporate.

Hopefully her love for building brands will push AP onwards and upwards.

Whoa this is it

What's gonna change? Increased production? Reduced build quality to cut costs? Modified approach to marketing/target audience? New lines? DISCONTINUE THE CODE?!

She has impressive track records of building consumer staples.
Luxury high end watches is a completely different thing but I sincerely hope she does great and takes AP further.

Love her P&G background... With Duracell powered quartz watches, she will become Le Brassus Fairy and with extra Gains put AP Head&Shoulders above other Old Spiced swiss brands. Tide structure party suplies from Columbia loved by old CEO will be replaced by Herbal Essence green creative plants and we will shit from excitement of new releases that Pampers will start producing adult size diapers.

As long as she doesn't drive AP towards the way of Panerai from a decade ago, then maybe things will be ok.

I say good luck to her and I wish her great success at AP. The decision to appoint her had been made and AP clearly think she’s the right choice, so only positivity from me

Francois didn’t have any background in the watch industry either before AP and he turned out amazing. Hopefully she turns out ok and doesn’t run AP into the ground

By this reverse logic maybe they will release kids sized watches to go with the kids t-shirts they give as gifts? I would confess, if they 3D printed a plastic RO like the moonswatch route...I'd probably get all the kiddos matching watches! Only needs to include GPS tracker. Time does not need to actually work. Lol.

End of an era for sure. Best of luck to the outgoing and incoming!

Only time will tell. The last 100 years went well, I am pretty confident the following years will also.

I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. For an old family run brand, they need a good people manager that’s able to draw out the best in people

It took him 5 years to become NA director and 19 years to became CEO, so it is not nearly the same to get CEO job as you first job in watch industry.

Don't think the Japanese have not gotten the global memo. Party still going strong even though CommandoPat took a blue RO with him when he left the party.

Reading this thread vs Hodinkee comments, I can't help but wonder if the bullish dividing line is those who already have a QP (therefore can be patient while happily enjoying said QP) and those who don't already have a QP ding in the incoming CEO.

Having a QP I still don’t have a clue what you mean.

I observe (very loosely) that those who have already gotten a QP or equivalent dream piece are highly optimistic about the future of the brand. While those who don't have an AP generally are very cynical about the future of the brand.

She may be getting the company ready for a sale based on her background.

My exact thoughts as well. LVMH must be licking their chops

Honestly, if AP does end up with LVMH, the first sign it was happening would be the appointment of Alessandro Bogliolo as the chair of AP…. Since his appointment until today, I remain sceptical of what he is bringing to the AP table….

His tenure at Tiff and Co was miserable to say the least - Tiffany and Co completely lost the high end jewellery market. What was once an inspirational American jewellery icon is now dabbling in streetwear for teens following the sale of T&Co to LVMH, and guess who was the CEO when the deal was finalised?
