Inside Tudor - Rolex must be the same
Really cool video on what it looks like inside Tudor and how they’re making and testing watches.
I have to imagine that they took everything from Rolex, and that Rolex has been doing this for much longer. Gotta appreciate why these watches are so robust. https://youtu.be/YLdd5M3FZNk |

Always a poor man's Rolex homage with outsourced components of inferior quality, sloppily put together
Thanks for sharing, OP!

I enjoyed seeing the automation. I don’t work in that type of industry but hearing what is automated and how was very impressive.

Impressive
I wonder if Rolex uses a similar automation process.
This Also makes me appreciate the level of quality and robustness that Rolex was producing 20-30 years ago |

I'm not really into watch YouTube but one of his videos popped up once and it's just close ups of him drinking coffee and talking about how Omega is fake luxury but Tudor and Rolex are real luxury. One of the strangest things I've ever seen.

When he’s by himself he seems ok. But his attitude on some of the comment on YT makes me feel like he’s a little 2nd generation rich boy pretending to be the opposite. But that Britney girl is probably worse. He reminds me of a teacher making TikToks with her students and acting much younger than she is. She changed her style along with her name in the past year but honestly all of these watch YTers are terrible, probably sans IDGuy and the new guy doing a “Week on the wrist” for Hodinkee. |

Just goes to show, everyone's taste is different. Out of everyone I find him the worse, super cringe. Videos are too long and just plays on the British bit far too much.

Reviewing a hat by walking around in some woods with a gun slung over his shoulder. Yeah, there's a bloke with his feet firmly on the ground in the real world.

I haven't watched any of his stuff (or much youtube at all for that matter) for a few years but I thought he came off as one of the most pretentious little weasels on the internet. Money for nothing and your watches for free?

This is one of the things I love about Rolex. They use the latest technology and manufacturing techniques to make incredibly tough and function mechanical watches. Hand made and "old world" techniques are great, but when it comes to longevity and timekeeping prowess it's hard to beat Rolex.
I find their parts management facility to be particularly impressive. |

Adrian Bark..one of the fakers on the internet/YT and makes content to lure people in so he can get paid from YT and sell his own crap. Hes one of those that will drop a Rolex and break a movement so he can do a video on "OMG..my brand new Rollie is running slow ..quality control is slipping!" and half his kool-aid drinking subscribers will send him best wishes and tell him to buy a AP.
Actually, fuck all Youtubers in general. And Tudor is still a poor mans Rolex sharing the same dna......and still not in the top 10 Swiss brands in general. Most of my local ADs here in California use Tudor as a "stepping stone" before moving up to a Rolex. Last edited by Lol-x; 30 May 2023 at 05:02 AM.. Reason: language |

Agree with you on Tudor. I’m waiting for a Submariner, but I also have my eye on a Pelagos 39. Tudor brings more to the table than just Rolex reissues. But even those Rolex reissues I would argue are better than what are now old and overpriced vintage models (like the Tudor Black Bay GMT vs. a GMT-Master (I)). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No one else is entitled to the use of Rolex design language, but Tudor. In fact, Tudor is considered by some, not a separate brand but yet another Rolex line.

Really and really? Like nobody has used Rolex as a design template and Wilsdorf himself created Tudor as a completely separate brand.

Man, what’s up with all the hate. I don’t love Bark, but like most YouTubers that produce content they gotta pay the bills. Take his opinions with a grain of salt and appreciate the inside look at the cool stuff Tudor is doing.
The Hodinkee article is great too. Read that a long time ago when journalists had more access, and Ben Clymer talked about the inventory management system of picking parts automatically which it sounds like is the same as Tudor that they called “the vault”. Clearly very proprietary stuff and likely really far ahead of all the other watch manufacturers. |
