Does anyone think they will eliminate the 5164 in the next 3 1/2 years... random amount of time, but that will be my 45th bday, I would like to have acquired all my choices by then, black and white Daytona, I think they will be first, followed by the 5164

This is a good idea. I'd do this in a heartbeat if wait times permitted it. Add a 5711 in for good measure maybe ;-P

Then no need to get it, in the first place. Go straight for Patek, if at least you love their watches.

This is kinda where I am too. Hulk is still alluring because of the dial, but after getting my DaytonaC, I was done with my other Rolexs.

I love the new ceramic Daytona, id like both, the white and black dial, is it worth the wait given I won’t pay the markup...

Or do I go straight into Patel, the 5164 I love...
Go to Patel, you can't go wrong. The Tandoori Chicken is the best.

Anyone had Mogo? I'm hearing these "chips" are delicious and I'm going to order some at our next Indian meal.

Can you get a good discount? I thought the price of the SS was high so the RG was stratospheric.

If you already had Rolex watches then join the Patek family.

The 5164a was one watch that caught my attention in that year when introduced in Baselworld. I specifically asked my AD to give me an allocated piece at that time which they gladly “obliged” 8 months later. I can say it wasn’t an immediate hit because of the price for a travel time complication. As for me, I was attracted at the Nauti-like case, the choco dial “globe within a globe” in symmetry with the tropical strap, the heft of the watch, and most of all the practicality of the complication as I travel to different time zone.

Glad to know it is getting its “respect” among the Nautilus/Aquanaut family.

Going back to the topic, I would suggest to go for this timepiece and the Daytona later.

Most Patek collector that I know doesn’t have 5164 though. Yeah I know it’s snobbish but they don’t want it because it’s not expensive enough or it’s entry level.

Same type of people who if buy Porsche would never buy Cayman.
