New camera and lenses

My new Canon 5D arrived today along with a couple of Canon L series lenses. These were taken with b&w set in the camera along with orange filter, +1 sharpening and +1 contrast, also set in the camera. Other than enlargement and crops, they are as shot.

I forgot to say, it was blowing off the bay and beginning to rain. Without the image stablization this lens has, there's no way I could've hand held it! I couldn't be happier with this stuff!

OK gotta go bath lil stinky butt :)
Thanks for looking,
Bruce

Nice equipment Bruce. When I was changing up I should have gone with Canon, unfortunately I had too much Minolta equipment that I'd invested in over the years. Maybe I'll change over as a retirement present in a few years time.

Great shots Bruce, you should consider entering a Rolex watch photograph competition.

Thanks everyone! Much appreciated. I love b&w padi. When I took a photo course in school, we had to use medium format cameras they issued us with b&w film. I bet I took some of my best photos ever back then.

I was going to pick up a used film camera for b&w before I saw the results from this new camera, but now I don't know. May still do it, but I need to spend what little money I have left on another lens.

Adrian, I sure understand about sticking with what you're invested in. Given how quickly digital technology is improving, I bet Minolta will be offering a 12 mp camera, that's affordable, within a year or two.

So, about that Rolex competition.............................

Maybe they will but I certainly waited long enough for them to bring out the 7D.

Yes think digital is catching up with film, but IMO not yet reached what a
Medium format camera can do,I used to use a Mamiya 645 then on to a
Mamiya RB 67 PRO both super cameras with great Len's.

That's for sure Padi! I've read where a lot of pros have replaced their 35mm film cameras with digital, but stick with medium format film for landscaps.

Nice shots, as usual, Brucio.

How 'bout a pic of the equipment, eh? LOL

You're fortunate that you live in a photog's paradise what with Washington, Annapolis, Baltimore, Alexandria and the whole area around the Chesapeake. Very photographic places.

BTW, what are our geese doing down in the US? Tell them to come back home!
