its more than half of a full gold 5980 for some perspective. So yeah, its a lot for an aquanaut chrono in SS.

I bet the first ones hit the market at 65k and settle in to the mid 50s for a year or more. I could be wrong.

i agree that its going to go way over retail. I really like the watch, but at that price point i would want to save more for the 5980 as i prefer it anyway.

Like the concept but not a fan of the orange accents

Hard to argue. 5980/1R is a beast.

In three years, they have gone from 650M to just shy of 1B – something that I imagine hasn’t gone unnoticed by Thierry and the Board. In relation to a previous comment about the price putting off the flippers/speculators – nope… that’ll only happen once Patek feeds the demand. As long as supply is restricted, which helps residuals, the status quo will remain. |

LOVE the looks and the size but $43k seems a little ambitious even for Patek.

Echoing others... This is neat, but the 5164a/r is looking like the one to get.

Yup. If the minute subdial followed the globe within globe motif and dropped those silly orange accents I would put it on the list. Now we have even worse symmetry, the minutes subdial looks weird on the dial and the orange accents. The 5164 just looks so much better put together.

From pics, it looks underwhelming to me. The 5164 aesthetics look much better.

At first glance, I thought it was an Hermes watch or a SE collaboration piece. Not bad looking but I still prefer the 5167/64.

Pricey - sure, ambitious - perhaps. But — I’d rather a reference be priced higher - to highlight and get to the proper market segment up front - to help determine accessibility. So I’ll give them that. With that price point — it’s going to be a ‘sings to me’ or ‘hard pass’ decision... All of the Rolex buzz now is how much more will you have to pay for a 9k GMT, and how long will I wait...but if that GMT was priced at 15k....the discussion and desire I suspect would be quite different. I’m curious how long it’ll take my AD to get it... Just a thought... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

WF have a mint 5980a for £52K! Price of PP chronos knows no bounds if in great condition, market is insane. Not sure this Aqua is overpriced any more, not sure of anything any more...

thats nuts. Discontinued + the current market is a perfect storm for that one.

I guess Patek already calculated the grey market premium in the price.
Really don't like the orange details and that orange strap is really cheap looking. Cheers |
