I couldn't find anything in regards to this on the Panerai website or in some of their product brochures. This leads me to believe that they are not COSC chronometers. Am I correct in this assumption?

I believe they are. I thought that I received the certificate with the box and papers. I'll have to dig out the box and confirm.

The 111 is COSC, as are the other Historic models with second hands. Not sure about the new in-house movements though.

Hard to say is right. Perhaps they are just playing it down a little...but most Swiss companies love to trumpet their COSC status.

I say hard to say because you almost know that Manifattura line should be COSC yet according to you they have not stated it anywhere. We know they need the COSC to effectively compete with other more popular brands.

I'm pretty sure they don't come with COSC papers, but they are guaranteed by Panerai to operate within those specs.

The 312 is not actually sent off to COSC, it has an in-house version of testing which Panerai does for their own watches. If you look in your manual/book between pages 13 and 14 you will notice a un-numbered page glued in that has the movements testing results.
This is of course for the 312, I'm not 100% sure of the others.

Yeah i'll second Jeff's post - from what i'm lead to believe the Manifattura models are tested in house by Panerai, these tests are equivalent or better than COSC according to Panerai.

I decided to snap a few pictures of the certification that is in the Panerai 312's booklet. Panerai tests their P-9000 movements to what they call CTMP certification.
Here is a shot of page 12 in the booklet. This shot is of the next page which is unnumbered and shows the CTMP results and the date of the test. I like this one as it shows my 312 was tested on April 22, 2009 and I bought it in the US at my AD on May 23, 2009 and month later. Last observation of the CTMP certificate is that these two pages in the book are the only two with PANERAI written as a water mark in the paper. Hope this helps clear things up.
