Parts for PAM

Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase and the price for the part covering the crown?

On the PAM000 it is brushed steel, but the case and bezel is polished.

So I would like to know if we can replace the original (which is brushed) with one that is polished?

Any ideas?

Go to the Panerai AD in Central which is also a Service Centre in Hong Kong - I'm sure they can get you a price.

Thanks guys...

Called up the PAM service center and they said that they wont sell the part to me because "it would not be inline with the original look of the watch".

Oh well, I can imagine it wouldn't come cheap...

If you really want one, I can ask one of my vintage contacts to source one for you, but like you said I don't think it will come cheap.

I didn't know you had a PAM as well

How about just taking the original one and polishing it?

It should be fairly easy to buff it up to a mirror finish.

Not yet... I ordered an Omega Seamaster PO which is due to arrive tomorrow...but waiting for it to arrive has been sooooooo painful that I have been keeping the fire burning by looking at other watches in the meantime. I stumbled across the PAM000 which is for $32k retail in HKG, which I think is a fair price. I think the base model embodies the PAM look and DNA and at a reasonable price...hence I am considering adding it to my "collection". For the budget I had allocated for the DSSD, I can basically now get both these watches - with some $$ remaining for some cool straps for the PAM!

Anyways, am also considering the PAM176, but just don't want to pay extra 10k for it...

Btw... any thoughts on the PAM 000. I've read all the threads and really only concerned now with the look; thickness; reliability; the matching of the polished crown ground to the rest of the polished body.

JOHN - how do you do the polishing your self? Anyone done it without screwing it up?
