David's opinion is the gold standard here.

I would keep it original. A replacement clasp seems an unnecessary expense if it is working correctly. A trip to the spa (RSC) would be a good investment in keeping the movement in good shape. But otherwise, wear your dad's watch with pride.

I think OP posted this is in the Rolex forum iirc so using words like fake are not welcomed there, it is in the right sub-forum now.

Looked real to me so the weight would have confirmed it quickly. David is the one to know as well.

Truthfully, I have no idea what the weight of a real Rolex is, or any gold watch for that matter. I'd have no way to compare it to a watch of lesser quality materials.
