Rolex on JomaShop

I'm thinking of going gray market for my next Rolex, and buying a GMT Master II via Jomashop. I'm not worried about it being authentic, but I'm wondering about if it will be truly unworn, and in perfectly new and unworn condition. Anyone had any experiences getting a Rolex through Jomashop?

Avoid. Go with a trusted seller here and get the full box and papers. Joma won't give you the Rolex warranty. Instead you'll get their warranty.

With those specific concerns, pass on Joma.

In fact, you should only purchase from AD, have a fresh Rolex ordered specifically for you and have a official de-stickering ceremony at the AD.

First Rolex? Do the AD route and don't worry.

Second Rolex? Try the trusted sellers here. You can get the AD quality w/o the overpriced champagne.

Also, search for Joma on this site... Not everyone has a great experience with those folks.

Why not just use a trusted seller on this site? I wouldn't necessarily consider some of these dealers "grey" in the Jomashop sense. You can contact one of these trusted sellers here and they will call up their AD and have them ship the watch from their AD with your name on the card and you get to save the money.

Just contact them and tell them which watch you want to order.

What is you aversion to the Trusted Sellers on the forum? You really can't do much better.

Had a good experience with Jomashop.. i bought only quartz from them. One Tga heuer formula 1 and Tissot quartz.

For brand new mechanical/auto watches i prefer ad, for peace of mind.

There is no big price difference for rolex comparing jomashop and rolex AD.

Jomashop in my experience is trustworthy, and you need not be concerned about stickers being intact. But like others have said, you will do better with one of the trusted sellers on this forum.

Plenty of good folks here on the forum you can get a brand new in the box fully stickered and warranted piece at a substantial discount and no sales tax

FYI every watch I own has been purchased right here on TRF

I've bought a new Omega from Joma, and everything was perfect. Warranties are through Joma, and the watch must be returned to them. Considering the discount from msrp, my only risk was the shipping cost if a problem occurred, which was justifiable to me.

For a Rolex, even after a great experience with Joma, I would go to a TRF dealer.

Joma's Rolex discounts are pretty negligible and not worth having to deal with their warranty. You can likely get a better price for a new GMT from an AD.
Also, and I will caveat this by saying the trusted sellers are great, you can sometimes get better prices at an AD than trusted sellers.
From my experience, look closely at both routes. See what trusted seller prices are. Compare prices against 2 or 3 ADs.

JOMA Shop delivers what they advertise. No issues with watches, service or returns. The big issue is that you can meet or beat the prices there from one of the Trusted Sellers on TRF and get the Rolex warranty card. When you go to sell a modern watch and don't have a complete set it will cost you. How much? Depends on the watch and condition but easily hundreds of dollars. You also will have to pay for any issues if sent to Rolex as you do not have a warranty through them. The new Rolex warranty is five years. I would not buy an incomplete watch modern watch. Vintage, maybe. By the way you have picked a great model and a value in the market.

Long time Rolex owner, but fairly new collector. I recently purchased two rolexes from a TS. Both watches came with the same documents, warranty card, boxes, etc. as the last Rolex I purchased from an AD. The stickers were intact on both watches and the warranty cards were dated and in my name. If you know what you want, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from one of the big 4-5 TS on this website.

Joma wouldnt work for me because of the resale aspect -- no rolex warranty card. I believe the watch takes a hit because of Joma's warranty policy on NITB watches.

I bought a Tudor from them and the experience was very good. At the time, they offered the best price around, and the watch is a keeper for me, so I couldn't care less about any hit on relative resale value.

Their discounts on Rolex aren't worth the trade-off for me tho.

Why?

Someone else also said first Rolex from AD then second from Trusted Seller.
If the verdict is that Trusted Seller is the best option, why would you recommend an AD just because it is a first Rolex?

Genuine question, I have seen similar recommendations on many other threads and it always confuses me as to why someone would have a view that TS is the best way to go, unless it's your first watch made by this brand.

I have bought a piece from Jomashop. The exsperiance was good but not having the original warranty card always bugged me. So if your a little anal go trusted seller on here for the full set.

I have to say I bought my SS SubC from an AD in Canada why on vacation. And I agree depending on the piece and your willingness to pay retail go AD at least once. It was a great exsperiance you just can't get ordering online. The feeling of walking out with a brand new watch that you have busted hump to pay for is second to none in my watch buying exsperiances.

Trusted Seller IMO. I'm sure Jomashop is fine but you're still paying more than a TRF TS.

I'd never buy from an AD... except I did for my wife since she freaked out about getting a watch from an 'unofficial' channel. (happy wife, happy life)
