Winding 5726 feels noticeably different
Can any 5726 owners confirm how winding the 324 caliber feels? When winding, it feels grainy and I can also hear it pretty loudly compared to Rolex or AP, both noticeably smoother and no noise. Just wanted to make sure normal since it’s brand new

Is this watch new to you? Reason I’m asking is to ascertain if the feedback of winding it has changed?
What you describe is normal. I’m winding this right now before replying. It is nosier than most modern Rolex. It shouldn’t feedback resistance or feel crunchy but the sound is certainly grainier than a Rolex in characteristic. Is it keeping its power reserve and good time? Mine is virtually +0 every day providing the power reserve is full. It gets a bit wayward on low power however |

It’s not the right comparison but it almost reminds me of winding those small kids toys that then start to walk/move after winding |

My 5524 is silky smooth. Like butter. Or whipped cream.

Both models above are different calibres.
Some of my other Patek calibres are smooth. But this annual calendar isn't like butter, it is a bit more noisy. |

Thanks, guys. Seems some others are also telling me these feel a bit “crunchier” and that it’s part of the charm :)

Different movements will have different "feels" while winding.
Nautilus watches will each feel a little different when winding... With the 5726 I get some winding feedback - that I can hear and feel. But it doesn't feel like it's broken. It's consistent and feels intentional. My 5726 is recent as well (new closure on bracelet) The 5712 is probably the most "grainy" while winding. 5990/5990 are a joy to wind. I can "feel" it wind and the sound it very little if any. The 5811 feels so smooth it's almost like it's not winding at all and I hear nothing - it very cool. I've had some AP movements where there has been real damage and the grinding or grainy feel was much different, it felt like something was wrong. I don't "feel" that with any of the Patek movements I have owned. I think the 5726 is underrated in any metal - Whichever you have - get it on the wrist and enjoy |

Just to echo above I thought of this thread as I just got my first 5711. Winding it up and setting the time is insanely smooth, as gummy said it doesn't even feel like it's winding on the 330 movement..
Compared with the 5712 I just traded, that was so grainy and gave a lot of feedback winding up so there is definitely diversity between Naut movements and winding them |
