I see your point. Financial independence paired with wisdom. Problem is we are always learning from our mistakes so how do you define “wise”.

I became comfortable with me as a man, knew what I wanted in a partner and in my professional life and what would make me truly happy when I was in my early 30’s.

At 63 I’m still working on getting old.
I hope to achieve that goal one day. It’s on my bucket list!

72 in a couple of months.

Managed to check my tyres, oil etc. and take the R for a thrash round the hills on Saturday.

Still ticking and managed to find my way back home.

I played b-ball with my kids over winter break. My back hasn’t been the same since. So yeah, now.

When I turned 13.

From there, I instantly turned into an adult, knew I wasn't having children, and became a 40 year old man.

The transition was...instant.

I’ve been very responsible for decades. Lost my mother when I was 5, and growing upon a farm there was always work to be done, in exchange for my room and board (not an “allowance”)

I may not have children, but my wife and I have been married for 11 years, together for 18.

I don’t plan to grow old anytime soon, YMMV.

I figured out what I wanted in a partner in my 30's too, the problem is... I was already married ~10yrs...so I figured I'd give her a few more years to change her ways (I think we all know how that goes) she's actually pretty good to me : )

I was born old.

And I just keep getting older.

I’m being truly serious too.

For me it's a mindset. Age is a number but so are cell blocks! Always striving to act respectably and be a honest member of society. But at 26 I'm already inching towards the big treinta!

People under 50 like to tell you stuff like "age is only a number", "You're only as old as you feel", "It's all about your attitude". etc.
This may be true if you are one of a small proportion of very superior physical/mental specimens.
For most of us, your body lets you know you are 'old' somewhere in your '50s/'60s.
This is when you start to find that your body will not allow you to do the things you have done up to that point without pain/damage.
My Mum (who lived to 103) was still jumping on the trampoline with her grandkids in her '80s. She was a superior specimen both mentally and physically.
Unfortunately I am not.

When I heard my wife’s card game ladies discussing how all their husbands and boyfriends needed the little blue pill. I do not use or need them, but my wife just laughed along with everyone else.

I'm pretty active and have more aches and pains than I once had, but having lived a life involving a lot of walking, running, and heavy lifting, I've always had aches and pains, so that's more an issue of quantity than quality.

I think my age is really beginning to become more apparent as I now have age-related medical issues, such as hypothyroidism and borderline thrombocytopenia.

I think one of the surest signs is that nearly all strangers under the age of 50 call me sir.

I suppose I felt old, or perhaps mature, from an accepting responsibility perspective when my kids came along. This is real responsibility.

From a spirit perspective, now around 50, I still feel a teenager. I doubt that will ever change. Well, I hope it doesn’t.

There are times I’ve yearned for the independence of youth again, rather than the ties of responsibility, but at the same time I love my family and wouldn’t have it any other way.

When I married. At that point there was someone else who would also suffer the consequences of my foolishness and immaturity. I became more responsible.

When peeing becomes a luxury.

5 years ago I didn't know what a urologist was and now he's my new best friend.

In the strict sense of getting old I'd say when I've hurt my shoulder playing with myself.
