Patina On 15202 Jumbo

I saw this 2013 15202 for sale and its the only one I've seen with a patina'd dial. It's odd considering the watch is only 6/7 years old. Any thoughts on how this happens? Was the watch just in the sun a lot?

From what I've heard the patina originates from pieces that reside in a safe and have limited exposure to light and experience fluctuations in humidity. I don't know whether or not that's factually accurate, but it seems reasonable and logical.
