Help me identify my Vintage Tudor Aqua

Gday, might anyone know the model number of my vintage Tudor Aqua watch? And what is might be worth? Engravings on the back date to 1964. Thanks so much!

Likely legit - hard to tell because of poor photo, not likely to go beyond that.

The Aqua was probably an Australian market only watch. Not a name ive seen here in the states.

Hi, thanks for responding. Sorry the photo is terrible. I’m having trouble uploading photos on the forum due to file size issues. I’ll try again.
I’m pretty sure it’s legit. It was given to my friends father when he retired in 1964.

Not a ton of worth, $500-600 in running condition maybe unless that case and buckle are solid gold. A picture of the back of the watch will determine that.

There may be a model number stamped on the back of the case back. Either that or you will have to pop the case back off and the model number will be on the inside of it.

The model number will not be between the lugs on this style of case.

It looks legit, hard to tell if the dial has been refinished.

The value on these is not great, manual wind, smaller case. It was a mostly Aus model.

The model number might be on the back of the caseback

The term Aqua was marketed thru Eaton’s stores with the brand name Solar. The watches were known to be made by Tudor. So likely the Tudor version

Hi, thanks for replying. I appreciate it. I’ll try to pop the back off and have a look. The back is gold in colour. It doesn’t have a number, but an inscription that takes up most of the back.
It runs well.

Most likely if there were numbers on the case back, they may have been filled in or ground off when the inscription was added.

Actually a back shot is very relevant. Im not sure if its the light but it looks like a 9k or 14k solid gold case. Im curious to see the movement and the inside of the case back, it will give a lot of relevant information.

This is def not a correct case back. My guess is it was replaced with one broad enough to inscribe.

Dunno if it persisted till the 1960s but earlier Tudors sold downunder had locally manufactured cases with Swiss movement. Anybody know more?

Thanks for the pics and truly not a Tudor/Rolex case back but the fact that it is 9kt gold it's likely so is the case

I agree, this appears to be a contracted case to me.
Not a "Tudor" case but still original to the watch.

Some Swiss brands would send the movement only, then have gold cases added on arrival to other countries to avoid the high duties on gold.
