Warranty/Service on New Vs. Used
Hey Everyone
Im new to the Rolex world, but not new to the watch game. After a big birthday a few days ago and a lot of hard work convincing my wife (mainly begging!), she has finally agreed to let me get my first Rolex. My question is, how does warranty/services compare on new watches versus used watches? For example: if I bought a used Rolex that's still under factory warranty what is covered...and vice versa. Ive bought used watches before but I was never concerned about warranty or servicing because they weren't really an investment. Any advise on buying new Vs. used would be helpful, especially when it concerns warranty/servicing issues. Sorry if there is already a thread on this topic. I searched, but couldn't seem to find the answer I was looking for. Thanks! |

There is no difference in service for a watch purchased used versus a watch purchased new as long as they're still under warranty and the card is presented with the watch. The card must be properly filled out. Welcome to TRF.

Just remember the primary function of the warranty is manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse or accidental damage by the owner. The warranty follows the watch not the original owner, so it doesn't matter if your name is not on the card as long as it is filled out properly and is not expired.

Note that Rolex extended its warranty length from 3 years to 5 years for watches sold after 1 July 2015
