So I Live Big Divers....
Watches that is. I wear a SD43 and wanted some other suggestions from ya'll. Looking to add to my collection and wanted some advice on other quality manufactures who make some bigger divers in the 1k - 2k range. Mainly looking for a quality affordable "beater" when I absolutely cant wear my SD43.

Less than that. Seiko SRP777. If you get that it might be the best diver you own.

Project 300
https://www.mkiiwatches.com/project-300 I received mine a couple of weeks ago after a modest 3.5 year wait. Some have waited 9 years. The bulk of the production will go on sale soon. Mine: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Invicta makes a lot of huge, cheap watches.

I highly recommend the Oris Aquis. I have the green in 43.5mm but they have multiple colors and sizes, up to 45.5mm. I got mine for 1600 OTD.

Look in the classifieds on this forum. An almost new Seiko Marinemaster is up for sale.
For me, in your 1-2k price range, top of my list would be a Doxa. They are awesome. Another nice one is a Stowa Prodiver. Less than 2k with no VAT. Both of those are on my short list. Quality watches for a decent price. Plenty of niche and small boutique brands out there too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sinn U212. Amazingly durable and beautiful watch. Made of tegimented steel, virtually impossible to mark this thing

For curiosity - what would you not wear the Rolex for, but would still be ok with a mechanical watch ? I get a G-shock style beater for the really rough stuff, but beyond that the Rolex would surely handle anything just fine ?

You need an old Omega PO 2500 used can be had a little over 2k. I got one for cheap, they're excellent beaters.
