From a high of 115K a month or two ago for a BNIB... now 94K!

https://davidsw.com/watches/patek-ph...1-1r-nautilus/

Definitely in the midst of a correction. Whether or not it will rebound or continue... who knows?

Even the 5980Rs now in the 130s and not selling. Quite a change!

Quite honestly, I'm surprised at how quickly the 5980/1R's jumped on the rumor that they'd be discontinued in 2020. I actually believe that rumor, as I'm expecting to see them roll out a 5900/1R (which I will be *all over*) but still, Patek is still cranking out 5980/1R's and their pricing jumped to $165k+ initially.

Madness.

I've got some bitcoin to sell at $20k/coin! Come and get it.

I thought the 5980 1R jumped with everything else from Feb to June time frame? Didn’t think it was related to the discontinued rumors... maybe I’m wrong

It did. But then it spiked harder when the rumors starting flying.

That said, I think it's fact, not rumor. But still, rumor until Patek actually announces (by taking it down from their site as they do immediately upon discontinuation -- typically).

In mid-2018 the Nautilus & Aquanaut Rs were selling for 5-10% above retail when their steel counterparts were going for double.

As the 1As were closing in on 3x retail, buyers realised the Rs represented value and started buying - pushing the prices up.

Now that the market have soften the Rs are the first to come down. Mind you it's still 50% above retail.

I think you and ninja boi are the reason to why the 1As are in such short supply.

Maybe more and more people are just getting tired of the whole "hard to get" watch thing and are moving on to other toys. Toys, by the way, which are not so attractive to thieves with guns in the streets all over the world as of late.

I do not think so with the long good run it has had. All things come to an end at some point. Over MSRP for sure, but not overly so.

Yes it will...

1) once the grey market shifts to singapore
2) once the onshore sales accellerated higher since China lowered the tax

:)

Enjoy.

Question really is when I get opportunities to buy stuff... is it a PP, a RM, AP or art or property or stocks... I’d add a Ferrari to it but I don’t have time to drive it. I’d buy a bigger house but prices in my town keep declining... a 3 mil house selling 1.3 mil, 4mil houses selling at 2.3. 10 mil houses transacting at 4ish

So watches rebounding will get some capital but unlikely to get most.

I do enjoy watching money in motion...

Sat going to be exciting :)

Manhattan real estate is really that bad? It’s leveling in SoCal but not nearly that drop off. $10m down to $4m sounds like 2009

Does Singapore charge import tax on watches? HK grey market has thrived because of that so if HK falls of a cliff, things will probably just get absorbed into the global market and not fully shift to HK unless SG is similar on taxes
