After trying multiple strap and NATO options, I finally broke down and ordered a custom Aaron Bespoke strap. This was the toughest watch I've owned to match a strap.

Providing you're not too picky about brand labelling, there are other economical options for mesh bracelets. I just took delivery of a STAIB satin stainless mesh bracelet (p/n: STEEL-2784-20725APB-STB-12) from Island Watch (MSRP:$200)

Quality is superb, however take careful measurements prior to ordering to ensue you have the adjustability your wrist requires. As I have beefy wrists (200mm, 7.75inches), I purchased the 170mm bracelet option.

I should note that out of the box, the lug end of the bracelet is too thick and had to be machined down a few thou to avoid clashing with the watch case. A couple of hours in the shop with a fine file and buffing wheel removed sufficient material.

I should also note that it weighs twice the weight of the watch which suits me just fine as I prefer a heavier watch.

Like most mesh bracelets, it's super comfortable.

For me, the jury is still out on this one, mainly because I don’t normally like aged lume. Yet this is so different from everything else that’s around, a totally unique mix of classic and modern, that it’s really growing on me. Omega’s are so good at the moment too.

I’ve only ever made one “impulse buy” in my life (Breitling Chrono Cockpit) and it instantly became my all time favourite. I think, if something “speaks to you” that’s as good a reason to acquire it as any!

With regard to the bracelet / strap, if you don’t have much experience with NATO / British general service straps, try one for a bit. I sometimes find myself torn between a leather strap (get stained by fuel etc, or in hot climates) and a bracelet (pick up scratches). The NATO strap is one solution. They’re comfortable to wear, more durable than leather, and cheap (ish) to replace. I have several of my regular wearers on one.

The other compromise is (you guessed it) the mesh bracelet. They’re very practical, and I have to say the one you have chosen looks absolutely superb. I’m getting some serious wristwatch envy here...!
