Just in, SBGA029

just arrived and I am so delighted. i used to own the GMT SBGE009 and really liked it but the size was an issue. have wanted to own another GS since, especially a spring drive

also really loved my old sub 16610 (since sold) and have been missing that "look", but I actually love this thing way more. the size, the polished, crisp, precise finish on this blows the 5 digit sub away. i was actually contemplating a DSSD and will definitely forego that.

this has just checked a bunch of boxes for me.

love it !!!!

bought on ebay with authenticity guarantee.

Very nice and congratulations. Seems whoever filled in that card isn't familiar with Spring Drive though.

Very nice pick up! The classic double-dial adds an extra charm.

Yes this watch is a real stunner. I have been lusting for a while and would be all over it if it were not for the fact I have so many black dial divers. I do not have a Spring Drive however.

I love the look of the gnarly bezel.

I too was longing to replace my old sub. Love the look. And spring drive was a must for me

It's great buying GS and SD, cuz you can't fake that smooth sweep! (Or maybe you can? But it would be super hard and probably not worth the effort when you can fake a Rolex much easier!)

yes it is a purchase i still feel really good about. something about the story of GS and the bang for my buck.
i've been rocking it every opportunity (not many but still)

and actually have really been loving the sweep. i realize there aren't technically bps (or vph) but this would have to be equivalent to like 12bps ?

am i a moron for not being able to visualize the escapement (tri-synchro regulator) of a spring drive ?
haven't been able to find a good video showing it in action

There is no escapement. The balance moves in one direction, and the speed is regulated via magnets.

So there really is no beat at all, to the hand.
