Bond, James Bond

Just watching the Bond marathon, Sean Connery (the only REAL Bond) looks great with his Submariner on. So, gents, does the new Bond get his Rolex back, or another Omega? I bet Rolex does not pay endorsement $$, like Omega does (whores!!) But it would be cool if James got his "proper" watch back for the new movie. I'll loan 'em mine!

I've been watching while Kelly and I put up and decorate our Christmas tree with a nice fire roasting. She asked why everytime we put our tree up we watch James Bond? By now I've told her it's a tradition and you can't break tradition, right? As I open another bottle of Merlot

Been watching it all weekend too!

Not sure he will ever go back to the "correct" watch. Maybe the next one will wear another type though.

As you may be aware, Mr Broccoli lent his own Sub in the first movie I believe because Rolex would'nt supply one

Yes, this is a bit of a put off. (It all began with a female M.). Bond is a symbol of the fifties, a dark figure, a womanizer and a heavy smoker and drinker. Not a goody two shoes who never smokes (perish the thought), drinks (mind the children) and now doesn’t get l..d anymore! (unsafe). On his wrist should be a Sub! (That’s a particularly handsome watch you have there, Mr. Bond). The misery I have seen passing by is awful. In this lineup, the Omega was the least offensive and the most likely. (Sturdy dive watch). Oh, do I long for a politically incorrect Bond!

When I think of Bond, I think of Sir Sean. Moore turned Bond into a foppish twit and Brosnen... well every time I saw Brosnan as Bond, I kept thinking I was watching one of those online BMW movies. The product placement is so garish in those movies that I stopped watching them altogether. The new blonde Bond looks like a pu$$y who'd cry if he broke a fingernail.

A Vodka Martini Sir? 1 part Stolichnaya Vodka, 2 parts Martini Dry and a dash of Angostura Bitter. Served with an olive. Shaken, not stirred. Cheers!

John, stop riding the fence! Tell us what you really think of this new Bond?

By the way, have you ever seen him in a film? I have, and he's actually quite a good actor, and seems capable of the approriate level of violence.

Last one I saw was called "Layer Cake" and it was an organized crime drama set in the UK that he starred in. Daniel Craig was in "Road to Perdition" as well, but that was a while ago.

Other I've seen him in recently were "The Jacket" in a supporting role, and "Enduring Love" as the lead.

Didn't get that movie. I did like the part where Sandra Oh (I think) beat the s#*t out of her boyfriend with her motorcycle helmet. I never expected THAT. I laughed my ass of.

Sheesh - they should bring Dalton (and his Sub) back and be done with it.

I think T. Dalton made two films as Bond - The Living Daylights and another one....can't recall the name. Both films had excellent story lines.

But, personally, I still feel the BEST Bond film ever was "From Russia With Love". That was a cracker!!

The new Bond movie will feature a Swatch.
And Rap music in the title theme.
It will also be politically correct and female characters will no longer carry names like those being used these days by strippers from the former Eastern Bloc nations.
It will be rated PG 13 and center on who stole the sat uplink codes from MTV.

Now, which of the above is false?

Mmmmmm Sandra Oh (good Ottawa girl). Ever since I saw her in The Diary of Evelyn Lau, I've been hot on her.

I thought Sideways was way over-hyped. It was an okay movie, and the lead (can't remember his name) was really very good. I didn't like that it was shot to look like a grainy 70s movie. Thomas Hayden Church was quite good, as was Sandra... wasn't Church wearing some serti dialed sub?

Personally, I prefer the pinot noir.

Paul Giamatti is the other guy.
Church used to be a DJ in Texas, I believe.
Sandra Oh was quite good as the knocked up carpet muncher in that chick flick about the divorcee who fixed up the house in Tuscanny or some place.
You now see why the Ottaw Citizen used to use the talents of Noel Taylor instead of someone such as myself for movie reviews.

JJ - I agree!

From Russia with Love is my fav Bond film too!

I've never seen Daniel Craig act but just on looks I am quite happy they chose him.....he looks quite rough around the edges and we need a 'new' actor to take over the role (much like Connery was).

As for watches, yes - it has to be a Rolex...but then we are biased!

Whatever he wears I just hope the script and acting and the film is a lot better then the last few.....leave the Hollywood glitz and go back to basics.

I remember too... but I forget the films name. Mike I'd love to see your movie reviews in the Citizen.
