Opinion on cherry logo 6239. Thanks
Hello guys,
I would like to seek your help to take a look on this 6239. I am considering it and did a bit search and it seems fine to me at the moment..however some of the info I am still looking for( since some info is not easy to search.. eg the correct bracelet of 6239 for this silver dial 6239…) Dial: silver cherry red Daytona 6239 (seems losing some lume on 3,6,9) Bracelet 57 end link ,7205 bracelet Serial: 178xxxx Hands: short hour hands, thinner sub dial hand at 9 o’clock Bezel: 300 bezel Appreciated your opinion on this!! Thanks |

Looks pretty good. Dial has some spotting which is fairly common. Case looks good with a somewhat soft correct bezel. All and all a pretty nice and quite rare 6239. A 7205 is correct on this watch. Usually with 71 ends even though 57’s fit decently.

I would expect them to glow under UV. Since some are chipped it could possibly explain why they glow a bit different. Usually it should glow the same. It’s a rare dial configuration so it shouldn’t come cheap regardless but of course there’s a discount on any kind of defect. Condition is always important when it comes to vintage pieces.

Here's a shot of my 6263 Daytona under UV. Different reference but I'd imagine the reaction would be similar on a 6239. |

Thanks guys for your sharing!!
Beside the long thin hour hands for early 6239. I found some of the 6239 has smaller lume on the short hour hand ( I think the one I m considering has bigger lume on hour hand) lately on Cosimo watch ig there is a post on showing 6239 small and big Daytona, circa 1966 and 1967, the hour hand of two watches are different. What do you guys think? Thanks! |

May I know if you guys would pick a cherry dial 6239 (as above) or 6265 big red silver(as below)? rare vs sporty? haha
The 6265 I am considering right now (Appreciated your opinion:)) serial:91xxxxx dial and sub dial: big red hands: seems correct lume dots: no missing pusher mark 2? (seems to correct) bezel (seems correct ?as there is no straight 7) Bracelet: 78350 end link and 557 end link (seems some saying it should be 771?) Thanks! :) |

For me early Daytonas are more interesting than big reds. Big reds are the red subs of Daytonas. Favoured by many.
Each to their own though. I think you should get whatever watch that appeals to you more. Trends always come and go.
