Breitling instead of Batman

Really trying to grab a Batman but we know how close to impossible that is. And I refuse to pay double on gray.

Randomly saw this last night. NEVER been a fan of Breitling but this caught my eye. Thinking of grabbing one. They’re able to get at or below retail.

I seem to like Breitling more than most on this forum but not sure about that particular model. If you like it, get it.

You could, but you’ll still want a BLNR…

If you want a chronograph instead of a GMT …

It’s also going to wear much differently than a BLNR at 44 mm and 15+mm thick

My thought also. If you like the GMT function, I would look to get a GMT from a brand which offers one which is comparable to the Rolex.

The Super Ocean Heritage line has always been my favorite models of the entire Breitling line. Beautiful piece but something tells me after picking this up, deep down you will still want a Batman.

Either way it may feed your hunger until one mysterious day when the stars align and you get that call from your AD that they are willing to sell you one.

Nothing against Breitling (I have a super ocean heritage 42 myself) but buying one won't satiate your desire for what you truly want. In fact it'll probably make it worse and you'll be reminded of the Batman every time you look at your Breitling.

Beautiful watch, IMO. Totally different than a Rolex. You should buy what makes you smile. In my experience, if I really want something, it makes more sense to pay up and get it, rather than going on detours. All that said, I'd get the Breitling simply because I would enjoy a chronograph more and I already have the right GMT for me.

It looks alright. If you love it go for it. I had a similar SOH although the 3 hander, kept it 4 years, great looking piece.

Refuse to pay a grey, getting below retail are your criteria for a purchase

That can only give one result, buyer remorse.

I only buy a watch which gives me a very happy feeling when strapping it on my wrist. Below or above MSRP is never part of the equation for me

The “below” MSRP is a bonus. I used to get all my Rolex below. But that was a different time (8-15) years ago. I’m fine paying retail now. Even a little more. But Batman’s going for double new. Just can’t.

I also agree with some of the comments about still wanting the GMT. That’s probably true. But it’s not available. And if it became available I’d probably end up with both.

I’ve always been a fan of Breitling. As much as I think the Batman is really cool, I think one of my best looking watches is my TT Navitimer I’ve owned for 30 years. I would not be interested in replacing this one with a Batman.

What happened to all your below MSRP Rolex watches? Maybe trade one for BLNR since they should’ve appreciated quite a bit now. Like someone else mentioned, you’re not going to be satisfied with this watch if you truly want a BLNR and you’ll end up with an extra watch you may not want in the future.

Had to sell them all in the divorce . I had acquired a nice collection. Even had Two Hulks at different times. Bought and sold both below MSRP.

I’m finally reestablished now and starting over. So far have just the TT blue sub.

One of the tidier, least "Breitling" Breitlings

I like it

Great looking watch.

Completely different than the Rolex, however. If you were to buy it, would you quit looking at the Rolex?
I don’t mean taking yourself off a waitlist. mean quit looking online, etc.

If so, it is the watch for you. If not, well, wait it out.
Life is too unpredictable and short, so I know what I would do.

I have that watch with the blue bezel and silver subs. I’ve had it over 2 years and love it. I’ve got a few different options to wear it on, the blue rubber mesh, a NATO, and the mesh bracelet. The chrono movement has worked perfectly and it keeps time within COSC specs. With a nice discount, it can easily hold you over until you get a Batman and you may not have too much of a loss.

I also want a Batman. I have 3 Breitlings and really like them. That watch you posted is very nice. Having said that, are you settling for something you don't really want because you can't have the one you want? Will you end up regretting at a later time?

That SuperOcean Heritage is a beauty but no substitute for a Batman

I have the super ocean limited in green and love it. But I also have a Bat Girl and love that even more I can never decide which one I should wear I guess it all comes down to what colors I’m wearing that day.LOL But you can’t go wrong if you love it then get it the Bat Man will come around soon and you can get that one as well. It also gives you some buying history if you don’t have any.

That blue on the dial is stunning! I’d say snag whatever watch you feel most comfortable with. I had a few breitlings years back, chrono cockpit, superocean II red bezel, and a 50th anniversary navitimer. I’d say by far the navitimer was my favorite, as it was the perfect balance of size and weight. The chrono cockpit was too small on my wrist, and I believe it was technically a unisex watch. The superocean II was a heavy S.O.B., constantly clunking around and just getting in the way when i’d have to bend my wrist. The navitimer had a slim profile, but still had a presence on the wrist. Plus the shimmery silver dial matched the brushed finish of the watch. If I could have kept one, it would have been the 50th navitimer.
